Whitcombe is a strong scrummager and I’m pleased to see him get a start ahead FVW for once in the absence of Cronin. With Big George and Wellsy in the boiler room and adding Chez into tonback row I think we should have bit of ummph in that pack … we’ll see in the first couple of scrums if we’ve got ...

Great to know Big George stays with us although no great surprise for a boy who’s been here from his childhood.
He’d been one of the first names on my team sheet!

Re: Innovation or return of the good old days
The difference is that to be legal the ball carrier must engage with the opposition before his team mates bind on and drive. Once the opposition realise what is going on it a relatively simple fix. Just look back at the old tapes, you just have to hit the ball carrier low and hard .. as with everyth...

Great win away in Paris and especially when you look at the team. I always find it odd that the commentators don’t point out the fact we’ve sent a team without the stars and still came a way with the win . They said it was Vanes European debut but not the he was 4th choice and FTT was 5th choice hoo...

Re: Innovation or return of the good old days
just add everyone releasing the ball immediately on the floor and only competing with the feet in a ruck and then we really will have returned to utopia

I see Sam Grahamslaw has washed up at Brizzle since Jersey went South. Came off the bench today and didn’t disgrace himself.

I don’t see Carnduff as a lock (too small) and not a 7 either .. possibly a 6. The Manz brothers at look and back row may be good enough we’ll have to wait and see. I’d like to see more of Carmichael. He sure may has the size to be a quality lock but whether he’s good enough.. not seen enough of him...

I thought the young laddie who played 8 for the Stormers looked like the real deal. We could add tbe finishing touches to another future Bok cap for a couple of years

Re injuries Henderson was a knee injury that looked very painful.. he couldn’t stand when he first got up and the was hopping to get back into defensive line before he went down at break of play. Someone with me said they saw his knee go into very awkward shape when it happened Not sure if it was hi...

Re: Return of Champions Cup - Tigers v Stormers - Sunday 10th December 2023
I think the cost of a terrace standing ticket is very reasonable at Welford Road, I have been more than happy with my bit of concrete for the last 25 or more years. My wife seems happy enough with her Crumbie stand season ticket. The costs of buying a one off ticket especially to sit seems a bit ste...

Amazon is a far more attractive proposition as a TV consumer than either BT(TNT) or Sky. It’s cheaper and you get something else worthwhile thrown in for the monthly subscription. I would look forward to Amazon taking Premiership and all the others. I shall be scrapping BT when my contract ends as i...
