Re: Tigers v Quins (A) - Premiership - Friday 26th January 2024 - KO- 19:45

Biggest game of the season now by far! Time to concentrate on the league.... although it would be great to beat Leinster in Dublin (with some kind of miracle... with a full strength on-form team!!). I was at Lansdown in 2005 when we did! Me too. The wife sprained her ankle about a third of the way ...

Re: Harry Simmons

I think posters need to get the view on Brown accurate. If it was an unlimited budget it’s a no brainier, but it isn’t. Common consensus is that his contract ran out yesterday, so if he’s staying an extension is required which could be related to Charlie Atkinsons early departure I think that poste...

The match is on TNT Sports 5, which isn't available via Sky (unless they do it on the red button). It's not the first Premiership game I've see scheduled on that channel.

And people say the game has gone soft. Seems to me the supporters have gone soft. I remember standing in the pouring rain when we played Richmond. It was that bad the guttering on the old Next stand couldn't cope. I think we thrashed them 9-6.....or similar. A classic. Ahh, the good old days :smt005

Re: Farrell out of Six nations

What's in it for the RFU? Clubs able to keep the top players playing in tbe Premiership without going bust and leaving England without a meaningful competion for English players. Maybe (although i doubt it) the RFU and PRL are slowly beginning to realise that they both need each other otherwise Engl...

Re: Return of Champions Cup - Tigers v Stormers - Sunday 10th December 2023

Amazon is a far more attractive proposition as a TV consumer than either BT(TNT) or Sky. It’s cheaper and you get something else worthwhile thrown in for the monthly subscription. I would look forward to Amazon taking Premiership and all the others. I shall be scrapping BT when my contract ends as ...

Re: Farrell out of Six nations

Perhaps it's a ploy. Saracens are reported to be trying to cut Itoje's salary in half. What if Itoje became the single marquee player and Farrell's salary was cut only to be made up by a central contract. Other conspiracy theories are available. To be fair, I would expect us to be doing similar. It...

Re: Farrell out of Six nations

As the hybrid contracts (which haven't been fully agreed upon) will not be starting before next season, we will hsve to see if Farrell continues to rule himself out next season.

And to use the Sky coverage as what should be aspired to :smt005 If a competition wasn't on Sky, they wouldn't spend even a millisecond on it. When covering a live match, more time was spent on "Coming up on Sky Sports" than on the punditry. And the whole programme was as short as they cou...

Re: Warburton's "Mark"

A quick trawl of the internet found the following in Rugby365, where a comprehensive, and presumably accurate, history of tbe Mark is given: "In 1977, opponents to the team claiming a mark were required to stand 10 metres back from the mark, no longer on the mark. This applied to all free kicks...
