Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

Genge is 100% off to worcester as can be confirmed by his entirely serious twitter posts. In the last 10 minutes, he's tweeted symbols for a contract and a pen followed by those for Warriors, Wasps and Bath! :smt044 Is he going to play for one on Fridays, another on Saturdays and the other on Sunda...

35 years as a rugby professional and he's never won anything far as I can tell. We can do better.
We could do, and have done, a lot worse.

Don’t forget Fissler reported that Toomua had signed for Wasps, not Tigers, so is hardly a reliable source!
On a similar note, the BBC commentator on the Eng v Aus highlights described Toomua as a Melbourne Rebels player.

I wish had been a tiger for longer.
Me too, but it was not to be. I thank him for his efforts in the Tigers shirt and wish him and his family all the very best for the future.

Toot toot.

Re: Do we have a chance on Friday?

Scarlets do have a fair few injuries at the moment, but they lose a lot of players during the AIs and 6N, as well as the usual string of injuries. Because of that, a lot of their 2nd string players get plenty of game time during each season. A lot more than at an English club. True but against oppo...

Re: Do we have a chance on Friday?

I have a foot in both camps. I'm Leicester born and bred (used to live opposite the Granby Halls until the house was demolished to build a car park) although now living in Lincolnshire. My late wife was from Llanelli, so have followed both teams for more than 20 years. Tigers seem to have improved t...

Re: French rugby 2018/2019

Greater depth? The national squad is suffering due to the high number of foreign players in the Top14, partly as a consequence of the high salary cap. I was talking the club structure not the national squad. So was I, indirectly. There may be more money around, leading to greater strength and depth...

Re: French rugby 2018/2019

Seems like France has greater depth in the club game than England. On the flip side hard to see how sustainable the club game is with that cap and attendance - although obviously that is just first glance. Greater depth? The national squad is suffering due to the high number of foreign players in t...

Re: Saints v Tigers

When George Ford came back, I had 2 major reservations, his goal kicking and defence. Not any more. While he does miss the odd fairly straightforward kick, his overall percentage is excellent and he seems to have added distance as well. As for his defence? He is never going to be able to stop big pl...

One more Thank You to ellis9 for the updates :smt038 With regards to extra coaching staff, as Geordan is now head honcho for the foreseeable future, I would assume that he would have major input and probable veto on any new people. As he was not expecting to be in this position any time soon, I doub...

Re: Premiership for sale

The money from that and potential TV deals should set up us for a long time in terms of making profits (Provided we don't mess up monstrously). But unless the Cap stays as it is the wages will go up so much and negate the cash boost if they are inflated with the deal. According to The Times (edited...

Re: Halfpenny

Even if it was recent, he's back "home", Scarlets got to the Pro14 final and Champions Cup semi, his playing time will be "managed", he's in Gatland's plans and is eligible for Wales in the run-up to the World Cup. All Tigers can offer is more money (maybe). Can't really see any reason why he would ...

Re: New kits for next season

Big fan. Traditional-ish style on the home shirts with a bit of subtle embellishment (the Tiger stripes). Favourite one for a while. Away shirt is decent, perhaps a bit bland even with the purple, but better than some of the more recent shockers! +1 Need to qualify this. It only applies to the fron...
