Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope

Given Montoya signing is all over the news and even on BBC who tend to be slow movers on announcing these things, strange that nothing from Tigers yet.

Anyone have ideas why? Is this maybe not fully confirmed yet?

Re: Tigers v Bayonne - European games suspended

Prem rugby have confirmed there will be a two week break to allow players a ‘test’. They haven’t got the balls or brains to do anything creative and all they’re doing is piling the fixture list up come May/ June. “the players need some well earned rest” = we at prem rugby can’t be arsed to rearrang...

Re: Tigers v Bayonne

Looks like European games are off. Hope they fill the gap with premiership games otherwise that would be 1 game for tigers in 5 weeks when supposed to have 5.

Re: Round 5 other fixtures

Also interested in whether the citing officer needs to take a look at a head butt... I’ve seen the clips, there’s no head butt that I can see. It’s one of those that if you look enough times, you may be able to convince yourself that there was one. Commentator mentions he thinks he saw a headbutt b...

Re: Ringfencing almost upon us ?

I see it as killing the game as a spectacle, half the teams will have little to play for later in the season so it'll be dead rubber games with squads of players you won't recognise. Potential for fringe players to get games, but the standard is likely to drop in those games. Remember how county cr...

Re: Weekend 18-20 December 2020 - European games

Watching the Quin’s game can see why Eddie doesn’t pick Dombrandt, is excellent in attack but seems to have soft shoulders and make passive tackles too often.

Re: Weekend 18-20 December 2020 - European games

Not a great weekend all round for EPCR if you look at the games in what should be Europe’s premier competition Scarlets vs Toulon - Toulon pull out because of COVID La Rochelle vs Bath, Glasgow vs Lyon, Toulouse vs Exeter - Cancelled because of COVID And looks like all the English teams are resting ...

Re: Premiership rejects BT TV offer

My disgruntlement with BT Sport's coverage is well known and if it goes to Amazon I'll be more than happy to switch as I'm the only family member who uses it anyway and its price is nowhere near value for money. My only hope is that Amazon don't swoop up the BT team... no one needs the shocking bia...

Re: Better without a TMO?

Be careful what you wish for, it's never going back :smt023 Sorry, but it's ridiculous to complain that humans are capable of making mistakes, then complain when they're given extra help. Haha fair point. Though not sure my opinion had a big bearing on World rugbys decision making. Is it ridiculous...

Re: Better without a TMO?

So what if one or two things are missed as it always used to be this way . Better than constantly stopping the game to go back half a dozen phases to check if a pass was an inch forward or not . Fans are unable to celebrate a try nowadays without looking at the ref to check if he has allowed it or ...

Better without a TMO?

When introduced I thought TMOs were a good thing to try to get things ‘right’. The Brive game was the first game in a long time I’ve watched that didn’t have a TMO and I actually think it made it much better. Unlike some on here I rarely have a complaint about the refs as although some are better th...

Re: Rugby players to sue for brain damage!

I have read an article saying that there will be much fewer children taking up the sport as parents react to all this bad press. If I were a father I would certainly not encourage my son to take up rugby unless the necessary changes are brought about. I shudder when I see players flying into rucks ...

Re: Tigers vs Brive

Good line up. Looking forward to the game and particularly seeing Bonilla getting a chance when we’re not already 20 points down.

I think having Lavanini back is massive as means we can more easily play someone like Taufua or Reffell in back row.
