Re: Is Boladau worth keeping long-term?

I thought he played well. Safe under the high ball and took responsibility at the restart. Not sure why he came off at half-time, replaced by Guy T. I'd keep him as a good squad player to cover injuries and rotation. Obviously this depends on other players being available.

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

Interesting to hear in earlier coverage of this that there's no cap in Europe so could they not register players for them Prem and keep them outside of the cap and have a completely different squad for Europe? That is a really interesting point. What would the mega-stars choose do you think? Europe...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

The time are reporting that Sarries will not appeal and have accepted the findings and penalties handed out. But what are they doing re that situation this season, or are they at it again? Absolutely - every league game they play this season, they are breaking the rules. Unless the punishment inclu...

Re: Tigers v Pau Saturday Nov 16th

Was it just me, or did anyone else notice the abundance of 'team meetings' the players had on the pitch? Slightly amusing/comical when the crowd were encouraged to count down the clock at the beginning of the match, only to see Tigers still in their huddle.

Re: Tomas Lavanini

Solid. Some good line-out takes, had a presence in defence. Unfortunately the scrum was a mess all around so the Lavanini/Spencer powerhouse 2nd row wasn't obvious. Stayed on for the full 80 minutes though, I think. Good signs all in all.

Re: Tigers v Pau Saturday Nov 16th

Just got home from the game. Sir wasn't great, but at least consistently poor. Scrum was a shambles, difficult to know why from the stands but Sir needed to have more control I think. I do worry about Genge - undoubted talent, but he pushes his luck too far sometimes. I don't know if it arrogance or...

I'll amend my initial contribution from popcorn Friday to damp squib Friday. In more ways than one.

Re: Borthwick

I know the rumours that GM would move to DoR, but it does feel that there will so many 'coaches' in the club. M Ford, B Deacon, M Bakewell, P Blake, B Stankovich, S Borthwick. Add on to that fitness, performance analysts for the senior squad. Are they all employed full-time? I just wonder if Borthwi...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

Posting form Ireland, so the cheating has had no real impact on us. Have to say i'm a little surprised how easy the media are going on them. Apart from Harlequins and Exeter, most people seem to be tip-toeing around it. Maybe that'll change with time but it does appear they have gotten off lightly....

If Bristol have a young highly-rated hooker coming through, perhaps we could have their old one back?

Re: London Irish vs Tigers

I'm suggesting that players might be less inclined to be 'available' for whatever reason when the team is performing so badly. It seems that much depends on the returning England internationals to reinvigorate the team.

Re: London Irish vs Tigers

I'm sure some of these injuries are genuine - but is it cynical to see a correlation between dire performance and the number of players unavailable for the games?
