Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope

What about the impact of GM leaving on those players who allegedly signed largely due to Murphy's 'vision'? I think Genge was one from memory. Unless it was all marketing speak (without substance) to build up Murphy's reputation. Time will tell if and when there is an exodus of some of the world-cla...

Add to that the ongoing changes in coaching team.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope

At the time of the last pandemic of this proportion or those world wars the sums of money involved even in top level sport were much lower than they are now. I have, for example, little fear that Bishopton RFC will survive the pandemic because the few hundred people involved in the club can dig it ...

Abysmal performance from Tigers. If I hear someone talk about 'learning from the game', I think they're taking the Michael.

Yeah, probably being paranoid. Been looking forward to seeing him in action for a while now and hoping to see what he can do pretty soon.

Re: Team for Exeter

Something is bothering me about the post match interview with Borthwick in relation to Nadolo. When asked why he wasn't picked his answer about not being ready sounded a bit unconvincing and his body language suggested there was something else going on. I have no idea what if anything that might be ...

As Pirelli would say, power is nothing without control. If we can establish a bit of a grip on games, the power we have will be enough.
I suspect that this will effectively be the 'clarity' given by the new Head Coach - control the game, particularly up front.

So Edgerton is saying that Gigena is staying in Argentina to play for the Pumas in the Rugby Championship?
Looks that way, which means when he eventually returns he would have been absent from the club for some 10mths.
Hopefully it will help him to get match fit if nothing else.

Re: Ringfencing almost upon us ?

As far as I am concerned your either a supporter or not and it’s irrelevant whether there’s ring-fencing or not. Although I was originally against it there are advantages of being able to use your young players when there is less pressure and let’s face it which teams in the championship have the i...

Seems to me that Abendanons motives were to do with money and lifestyle for him and his family. No problem with that, but probably not got the hunger and desire to work hard and improve Tigers have been talking about so much recently. Club first.

Re: Exeter Chiefs

My last comment on this topic as I don't believe it is my role to inform, educate or correct. All I know is that if there is a group of people who, as has been suggested find such imagery offensive, then anyone with a degree of compassion would try to do something to change that. There appears to be...

Re: Exeter Chiefs

Credit for these words to Annie Banaynay who has done a whole body of work on this: “Caricatures used by sports teams with “Indian” mascots contribute to the “savage” image of Native peoples and the myth that Native peoples are an ethnic group ‘frozen in history’.” I think Exeter need to take a real...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope

The 'Rugby Paper' (26/72020) suggest more than a passing interest from The Dragons toward Greg Bateman (Alex Bywater). Wouldn't surprise me. The WRU have made a concerted effort to get Welsh qualified players into the Regions squads. Bateman qualifies and is at an age where he should have three or ...
