Re: Saints v Tigers - 09th January 2021

From reading Boyd's statement, it sounds like it is now a case of cancelling a match if one club gets a few positive results, rather than if they are unable to field a team. Will likely lead to an even higher proportion of cancelled matches. Having said that... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-uni...

Re: Saints v Tigers - 09th January 2021

Would suggest Matt Smith will be explaining to some of the newer signings what Saints games mean to Tigers. Or he's a professional like everyone else involved and he knows that a win against Saints is no more important than a win against Quins. Of course, they'll always say it matters more, because...

Re: 3rd January 2021 v Bath

If, or as Bunchy suggests, when ringfencing is introduced, the season is going to really quickly become dull for us. So you speak for everyone then It was confirmed by Peter Tom last week and its widely known - 13 team premiership with any new teams invited to apply in the future based on the exist...

Re: 3rd January 2021 v Bath

So, Worcester v Quinn's off and Irish v Saints off, that means 4 points to both Worcester and Saints, both key rivals towards the bottom end of the table. And whilst we were awarded 2 points for the game at Newcastle that was cancelled which we might have struggled to get had the game been played. ...

Re: Exeter overhyped?

the OP poses 2 questions (1) I think the journey from championship play off winner to the league and European double in 10 years is a phenomenal one. it deserves all the hype and more in my opinion. They have gradually developed a style of play which has proved very successful and could have easily ...

Re: Ringfencing almost upon us ?

I think this is the ideal situation but unfortunately I don’t think there’s enough money in the game to sustain two leagues. EXACTLY! This is what people refuse to acknowledge. Instead we are stuck (currently) where we financially penalise on of the (just about financially viable) teams hugely in t...

Re: Premiership rejects BT TV offer

i think BT should be shown some respect that they are still showing all games for free - this is a big commitment financially to the fans in my view. be careful what you wish for with Amazon - you don't think for one minute that prime subscriptions wont soar once they land all this very expensive sp...

Re: World Cup 2023 Pool draw

yep - likely to add Samoa or Tonga and USA / Canada / Uruguay to that pot !!

Personally, drawing on my trip to Japan last year, I think its great to be mixing with Argentinian fans again as well as the people who hosted the best tournament so far.... bring it on !!

Re: Bayonne - next opponents

I think the only thing SB has to worry about with regards to selection is which 2 games to leave Ford, Youngs and Genge out of due to the England agreement - that is a straight choice between the 4 Euro (3 now) and the 3 premiership games that are scheduled between now and the 6 nations restarting.

I think it's a compliment to him that he is not universally liked - it shows what he achieved !!!

As others have said, hope it's not a health issue....
