theres a rumour luke myring might be returning to saints, from italy.

i saw buckland at the 'a' league final last season - he was appalling in that match. is he getting much game time?

i watched this match on tv, as i couldnt fit in a sunday afternoon jaunt to bristol ( another bonus point win for saints, thanks for asking!) perpignan won because they were better on the day. lots of the things mentioned above contributed but it seemed a fair result to me. on the ellis thing, not a...

lewsey in his prime was fantastic. the tackle on rogers will live long in the memory.

but he's past that now. he was at fullback when they last at the gardens at the start of the season and had an abysmal game.

so no surprise here.

(p.s - i agree shaw deserved that red)

at the risk of upsetting someone, the word is that the k/o time of saints vs tigers on 10/01/08 has also been moved to 5pm.

courtesy of the sky schedulers, that one though.

wrap up warm, and mind how you go :smt006

more importantly, why doesnt my dictionary have the word 'tigercentric' in it?

because such a word would be quite useful right about ....wait for it.....now.

mj has done little so far to counter the view of many, including myself, who thought the england job a bit big for a first coaching appointment. but it is early days and he has a grace period which, for me at least, will extend into the 6n. if we do not have a good 6n ( i dont mean winning the whole...

this puts me in mind of comments this week from paul shields (saints hooker if hartley is busy doing little elsewhere). he was saying that the 'crouch touch pause engage' commands arent helping as intended. as front rows rush to close the gap ( on the 'e' of engage as they say) he reckons they are c...

anyone naming three names for the conventionally two man strong second row is asking for a tongue in cheek riposte in my book, salcombe bob.

so no need to be quite so tetchy. :smt018

& a bit early for anyone to be concerned with next seasons fixture list too, imho.

Plus we should still be able to field a back row of Newby, Moody and Corry with Blaze/Wentzel/Kay in the second row, which isn't a bad prospect for a side missing their internationals.

saints hero to boost hampson fund

wee tam (tom smith) has chosen the matt hampson fund to benefit from his testimonial year in 2009. some of you may say 'pah, its a saints player' but smith is a legend down my way, was a great player for the scots and lions and today is one of the oldest players in the gp. anyhoo, even if its just t...

[] Yes. Which is why the refs are loathe to give red cards. They hide behind the citing commissioners! not always strictly true - montpellier had two players redcarded at the weekend, plus one sinbinned. one in each half, and the first was when their captain landed some punches on hartley who did n...

ollie smith fan club

not a happy return to the midlands for mr smith, montpellier going down 51-7 to saints. i have to say i think he had more fans there just for him than the rest of the montpellier squad put together. so hello to the girls on 'd' block terrace who didnt stop cheering him on despite pelliers thrashing....

it was certainly a satisfying night to be a saints fan, though i agree toulons capitulation allowed us to put the gloss on the win. i was really pleased young un's like courtney lawes perform so well, & mylers kicking (8 from 9 last night) is the best we've seen since grayson hung his boots up. ...

when i visited last week, i had no problem getting a beer before the match, either in the droglites or the captains bars. i didnt have a beer at half time as the queue for the toilets (which were very poor) took long enough but i nonetheless got back to my seat before the second half kicked off. so ...

the kiwi coaches are coming over in the new year to look at how some of their guys are playing over here. the implication is they will suggest to players whether or not it is worth their while heading back to nz ahead of the 2011 rwc. i read this in connection with a story about mcalister, but took ...
