Re: Tigers v Newcastle Falcons (H) - Premiership - Sunday 3rd December 2023 - KO: 3-00pm

When we beat them 60-7 they fielded 13 of the same 23 who played yesterday plus Orlando and Pepper. We didn't struggle then in the absence of our World Cup players. Isn't thinking that we would have done just following the pre-conceived script? Our squad does have depth and, given time for the new c...

Re: Play Off Semi-final - Sale - 14th May 2023 - KO 3-00pm

1.Cronin (Close, but if fit, edges it for me for scrum reasons. West off the bench is an under appreciated luxury.) 2.Montoya (Often our best player and currently the best hooker in the world. Has mastered the ref chat role.) 3.Cole (Dan is still the man at tight head, but Joe Heyes can mix it with ...

Annoying else notice that Clare has absolutely no carrying power at all? no matter how far he takes a run up from he’s always stopped on the gain line. really don't get the love for him, he's fine but people seem to love him, I want to see American Joe get a game there, why Clare a seems to got the...

Re: Tigers v Clermont (H) - Saturday 17th December 2022 - KO 15:15

Reflecting on the game tigers back play suffered early on from going wide too soon. They were very quick off the line, arguably offside on occasions, Atkinson dropped deep and therefore did not play as flat as you would want. We also struggled to break tackles in the back line which damaged our red...

Re: Tigers v Exeter (Away) - 10th September 2022 - 3-00pm

Whilst I agree with all the comments about stats, tackles, carries, mètres made etc etc, the fact is we were leading with three minutes to go and with à free kick from the scrum. We should have been able to run down the clock from there. Game management cost us the game even though we deserved to l...

Re: Semi final v Saints - 11th June 2022 KO 4-30pm

Defence. We're better. Up front. We're better. Attack. We're better, if not as spectacular against weak or beaten teams. Bench. We're better. Fitness. We're better. Place kicking. It's even. We win then.............hold on........... Welcome to the Matt Carley Show! It is all about him after all. Th...

Re: Tigers v Newcastle (A) 21st May 2022 KO 15:00

Difficult to say who we might prefer to play in the semis. Probably best to try and avoid Quins, but Gloucester picking up recently. Not too sure if topping the league matters that much. If we win the final we will long have forgotten whether we cared about finishing first or second in the league. A...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO

Agree that the tap from Hanro was a bad decision. Losing that 5m lineout right after we scored felt like a big moment too, we genuinely had them on the rack and we let them off the hook there. I'm a huge fan of Montoya but I felt Dolly should have come on sooner. The tap from Hanro may have been a ...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO

I was disappointed that we didn't take the points when we could have done. As for outplaying Leinster in the second half, the team with the most points go through and they played with that fact in mind. Why wouldn't they?

Re: Quins v Leicester - 23rd April 2022 KO 15:00

I prefer Claire to Dolly, Dolly was iffy today. The introduction of Claire last night saw a huge improvement to our set piece. I commented on his scrummaging ability some time ago. I just don't get why he is sometimes seen as third choice behind Dolly. He works so much harder, covers more ground and...

Re: Clermont (Away) - Sunday 10th April 2022

Hoping we go full strength at Clermont. Of course, we will need to use players wisely over the coming weeks, but we may/should have the luxury of some less essential Premiership games before the play offs and progress in Europe is achievable for this squad. Even a 10 point defeat would leave hope fo...

Re: Bath (AWAY) - Saturday 19th February 2022 - KO 15:00

Re the refereeing yesterday. Our maul in the final minutes, which was moving rapidly towards the Bath try line, was firstly interfered with by Nathan Hughes swimming up the side of the maul, then dragged down by the Bath 7, Coetzee, who approaches our maul from an illegal position behind the maul an...

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021

Fine though Dolly has been, I would prefer us to get the scrum working and, for that reason, I would go with Clare, who can scrummage as well as any hooker around.

Re: Bath - Home - 05th November 2021

Scrum poor tonight and has not been great all season, but that aspect is the final piece of the jigsaw. We're 8 from 8 and winning regardless. Get the scrum sorted and we need fear nobody.
