Re: Taylor Gough

Desperate news. Always sad when a young person gets dealt a blow like this, but for this young man, talented rugby player and immensely popular, it's all the harder to hear. Good to learn he's getting support.

Re: Manu Tuilagi

It is true that the details of any agreement made between the club and Manu are unknown. There may have been a settlement already. There may not. If not, Manu is not in breach of contract signing for another club after being stood down by Tigers. In fact to make any claim against Tigers he must demon...

Re: Manu Tuilagi

Agreed. It's not simple and there may yet be litigation, but I stand by it as a broad summary.

Re: Manu Tuilagi

Is the assumption that Manu is an expensive signing for Sale a sound one? We are in breach of contract by not paying him the amount stipulated in his contract and standing him down. If he signs for Sale, are we not obliged to pay the difference between what Sale pay him and the amount we are contrac...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2

Following on from Tiglon's point about the seriousness of the position, it is worth remembering that a 25% cut for some players will amount to a sum two or three times the salary of a player at the lower end of the salary range. It is those less well paid players who will be hit hardest and for whom...

Re: Julian Montoya

Montoya would be a superb signing in a position that will need strengthening soon. Don't quite get the hype about Mamukashvilli and certainly wouldn't expect him to be an improvement on Youngs, Kerr and Clare. He's quite small for a hooker, was not selected very often at Sale and failed to impress a...

Re: Tigers v Calvisano

With respect to some previous posts, I'm finding it difficult to see the point in fielding a strong side at home to Calvisano. The various first team players have played in combination before in match situations. They are professional full-time rugby players, who train together daily. It cannot, or ...

Re: Saints away - Saturday 30th November

If Saints are vulnerable, it's in the forwards, particularly the front 5. This match is our very first opportunity to put out a full strength side in the prem, apart from a couple of injuries. I would like to see us go there with a fully loaded pack. Genge, Youngs, Cole and Lavanini with either Spen...

Re: PRC Round 1 - Warriors vs Tigers

I saw enough at Sixways today to give some hope for the future. Defeat was expected if I'm honest, but effort was 100% throughout. I'm not complaining about our performance or attitude and I understand the resting of most likely first team starters in the circumstances that we face this season. The ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6

Didn't Clare feature large in our home defeat to Saints season before this? Seem to remember him coming on and giving our scrum a seeing to.
Difficult to see how we can do much better for a fourth choicer. Big experienced hooker with Tigers background.

Re: Tigers v Bristol - 27th April 2019

Always disappointing to receive abuse for a sincere comment in a civilised debate. I decided to watch the disallowed try at Newcastle incident again a few times. The cross kick from White was bang on the money. Hammersley was out of position and moved across stretching to make the catch. He may have...

Re: Tigers v Bristol - 27th April 2019

"It's down to very fine margins, which makes the idiocy of Ellis Genge all the harder to take. His needless barge into Hammersly, which resulted in May's second try, our fourth, being disallowed cost us 1 league point and gifted 1 to Newcastle. His "brush/barge" past Flood may have been innocuous, b...

Re: Tigers v Bristol - 27th April 2019

Nothing would surprise me about this premiership season. But, we are in a much better place now and should stay up with two winnable home games and a trip to Quins, which suddenly doesn't appear so daunting. It is not fanciful to look at where 9 points from the last 3 games would get us. Top 6? Unli...
