Re: Leicester Tigers up for sale for £60 Million

trouble is there are a lot of Bath residents who want it to remain a lovely City and do not want an unattractive large Rugby stadium built on their recreation ground. Twenty plus years since the game went professional and Bat still have a stadium not fit for purpose! All other Premiership have prog...

Re: Todd Blackadder leaving Bath

A pity Ben Elton didn’t create this thread then it could have been a series “Blackadder goes forth/northwest/east again.”

What went wrong at Debenhams and what it might mean for the Premiership

The English Premiership sold a stake to CVC recently. Seems they were involved in the deal to take Dibdibs private in 2003, extract short term profit, sell it on and leaving it a potential wreck (as if there isn’t a big enough challenge competing with online vendors). Here’s a link to an old article...

Re: Tigers v Saints

No leadership, no inspiration, repeating tired old mantras, no Plan B - but that's enough about the other T May. Seconds thoughts, perhaps that sums up Tigers too?

I can't make up my mind - are they good ideas or have they ignored an embargo and published them 11 days' too early?

Re: ARE THERE ANY LAWS IN THE GAME THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE?

They trialed stopping the clock almost every time the ref intervened in America and created gridiron. Even slower with many even bigger anaerobic "athletes".

Oh, I forgot this one: if you want to wear a scrum cap, you need to pack down in scrums.

Re: ARE THERE ANY LAWS IN THE GAME THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE?

Once the ref blows for a try, penalty, line-out or whatever, the team given the ball has 45 seconds to kick or whatever, then open play starts again. I get really annoyed when a penalty is given then the team/fly-half takes a swig from the water bottle, discusses diner arrangements with his captain ...

Re: Sarries being investigated

This is (Nigel) Wray's side of the story:

Didn't Quins have a reputation for doing something similar in the so-called amateur days - lots of City connections?

Re: Manu to Racing 92?

Remember what happened to Paul O’Connell? Left Munster then got crocked so deal to join Toulon fell through and he had to retire. If Manu’s holding out till after the World Cup then that’s a huge risk given his injury record.

Re: Major League Rugby

Rugby union is ideally suited to facilitate TV ad breaks. They take 2 mins 45 secs between innings in baseball so the time to set and complete scrums could be used likewise.

Re: EXTRA POINT

A supporter would rather their team won 3-0 than lost 48-50. A neutral fan sitting at home watching on TV would usually prefer to watch a 50-48 game rather than a 3-0 so it depends on perspective. That said, the Ireland vs NZ game was relatively low scoring but compulsive viewing for all that. Quite...

English clubs the new Italian clubs?

With the conclusion of the group stage of the Champions Cup I can't help but notice that with no Italian clubs in this competition, English teams fil the bottom spot in all groups containing one English team, withe the exception of Saracens. Furthermore in the two groups containing two English teams...

Re: Quins must win 23

Spot on TTRITH,Marlers an international and Lion and Sincklers supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread and all they did was continuously go straight to ground and try to con Pearce as much as possible, incredibly he did fall for their shenanigans once or twice but thankfully it didn't matt...

Telegraph article - Cole

At the risk of repeating an old theme, there are a couple of paragraphs in this article on Dan Cole's propensity to give away penalties:

Fair point or kicking him when he's down?
