Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Look, you can all moan and slate the bloke, that's your purgative but look at the bigger picture here. im all for giving him his full term of 4 years, why because if we dont do better than eighth but its still tight, is it his fault? also we get rid, bring someone else in and guess what first year ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

And what if the 3 close wins went the other way? It's not like we got a particularly rough hand on the close games, we lost 4 with Losing Bonus Points and won 3 by less than 7. That line of thinking really doesn't convince me of "bad luck". When we were so poor in the final quarter, I rea...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Think McKellar was dealt a poor hand, and both attack and S&C seemed a significant downturn from the previous regime. Two or three close results went the other way, w e'd be in the playoffs. That's not anywhere near as bad as some think, just not brilliant. I'm more concerned about the ladies t...

To be honest this chat is why I find it odd to have released Morgan Meredith. That profile of player as third choice while developing in BUCS or loan seems a pretty decent fit.

If we got some injuries we'd probably sign someone extra later anyway.

Re: jasper's ban

I thought he had 2 reds at Cheetahs before he joined us and then one vs Wasps (may be wrong though) Close. One red in SA, the red vs Wasps and then the ban for cumulative foul play yellow cards (3 yellows in fairly quick succession for foul play being effectively upgraded to a red). Found it... He ...

Re: jasper's ban

The hearing document talks about 4 bans including this one & "an additional" ban for totting up.

I make it 2 red cards, 1 citing dismissed & the totting up ban. So where is the extra suspension it mentions? They don't deign to list the previous in the hearing notes.

Re: Not a new kit Launch.... Tigers Together membership

I'd love to know what CVC's exit strategy is. They normally hold for 5 years, but in sport apparently they aim for 10 years. That puts them looking to leave about 2027 or so. Float on the stock market? Non starter surely. Selling to a sovereign wealth fund? Possible, there is good prestige & con...

Just looked through the ealing leavers and saw that Steven Shingler was on the list. Could be a useful old head to fill the bench slot behind Polly. Still only 32, but didn’t ply against us in the semi. Any ideas if he is still any good He's going to be playing for London Welsh in the 5th tier next...

Re: Not a new kit Launch.... Tigers Together membership

If things are that bad why do we also take every opportunity to say we're going to spend the full salary cap? Things should be addressed on their merits. For season ticket holders this offers limited benefits over a season ticket alone (a new shirt worth c.£75, for the middle level members a women's...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

A lot depends on how often we can get Henderson, Martin & Chessum all fit and in the same match day 23. I would think that for the 5/6 spots in the match day 23 for second row, blindside, number 8 & possibly back row sub, if they were all fit everyone would have Henderson, Martin, Chessum &a...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022

A few bits... According to Matt Scott in his interview with the Times Matias Moroni has not got a contract for next season yet. Coventry confirm Will Wand (promising centre) has signed for an unnamed Premiership club. Nottingham confirm highly rated full back Ellis Mee has signed for another club, d...

Re: Joshua Manz

Tall and very skinny, for a rugby player, he's clearly stacked for a normal guy. "Natural" position would be 6 but he's played plenty of 7. Lewis Moody/Tom Croft type build. I was impressed with his offloading skills and his game reading. He has been out injured a long time now though, so ...

Re: Hanro on Englands Radar.

Well he doesn't qualify for anyone but South Africa as he was categorically captured for them in the 2015 Junior World Cup. If he had heritage qualifications to use that route he'd have been eligible for a while now. If he got a British passport (he would qualify for indefinite leave to remain &...
