Re: Preseason fixtures confirmed - 2024/2025

So basically the England internationals are missing more games than this season, and we've deliberately clashed our season with the Rugby Championship more than needed to, just to satisfy a bunch of hooray tourists going on a jolly to a team ranked below Italy. The international beast cannot be sati...

Re: Preseason fixtures confirmed - 2024/2025

Just realised its a Lions tour next summer so my assumptions were a bit off. The Lions first match is 20th June, so the Premiership final will be 14th June at earliest. That means season starting 21st September latest. So I'm anticipating: Sept 21th to 26th October: Premiership Rounds 1 to 6. Octobe...

I’m curious about Chessum Jnr and why he wasn’t picked above Carter in the cup. Last year he was as impressive if not more so that Carnduff in this years Under 20s 6 nations. So where has he been since? Is he injured? Harlequins brought Cunningham-South ( who played in that same team and was argot ...

Re: Preseason fixtures confirmed - 2024/2025

Interesting if they are the only two, or if there will be a couple more after. If season starts on September 28th the England players will miss the first game of the season, and the two "training weeks" mid season. If the season starts on September 14th they'll miss the first 3, and it wil...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I do understand the frustration and a lot of it is fairly reasonable. That said, I do think we have been unlucky. Last year was unprecedented in terms of losing a coaching team mid-season like that. Also unlucky in that Pollard gets injured a matter of days before the SF. I do think if he plays, we...

I know it didn't go down too well on here when i suggested it last time, but i do stand by thinking that we need to look at upgrading Harry Wells. I appreciate he is a good club man, but the last 2 games against Gloucester he was completely ineffective. Tbh i'd say the same about the Ealing game as...

Thought Basham was mates with OHC at LI? Tbf I do agree somewhat about Hatherell. If he could rediscover the form he had for Worcester / La Rochelle I’d have no problems with him starting. He showed then he was a great carrier. Something he hasn’t quite shown in a Tigers shirt yet but the ability i...

Does anybody know how the summer series to Japan and NZ will impact the start of the 24/25 season? Will the internationals miss preseason again next time due to a rest period? Presuming a start date of September 28th the players used in the final test would miss the pre-season matches & the fir...

It's a shame if Ollie Smith just gave the game up. I remember being amazed when he didn't get a contract. He looked like a brilliant talent. From memory, I saw Kit Smith on the Lough pages, then he was with Cov around the same time just after leaving Tigers. Did he just not turn out for either? Was...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Edwards only really got a chance against Saints at home in Jan 2023, I thought he played really well for his first big game. If I was him though I'd leave, they clearly don't rate him and he's not *that* young any more. From 4th choice he'd need two injuries to even make the matchday squad, so it's...

Re: Tigers vs Gloucester (H) - Premiership - Friday 22nd March 2024 - KO:19.45

As soon as we start saying ‘we need this player, we need that player’ we are in trouble. The best coaches don’t make excuses like that. They make teams more than the sum of their parts. At the moment Leicester are less than the sum of their parts and in a competitive league, with no financial advan...

Re: TV Deal for Season 2024/2025

Unless this is an exceptional TV deal, it could be damaging for some clubs with fans choosing to drop Season Tickets and see a drop off in attendances at games? Particularly if they have the right to mess about with kick off times for all games & we get a big increase in the unpopular Sunday ga...
