Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

The salary cap works out at about 7.5 K Premiership teams need 40 + players not even Saracens will be paying all of them 400K a year, most players will be on less than 100 K still a good wage for a young guy but not a lot when trying to provide for a future in the real world, a 25% cut will hit tho...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

My understanding is that everyone can apply for a three month mortgage holiday, legislation is being rushed through so renters canno't be evicted, and the government will cover 80% of employees salaries up to £2500 a month. It's up to companies how much else they pay during this difficult time whic...

Re: LFC Plc Announcement

If, as appears to be the case, the sale was held up by the bidders not having the clubs best interests at heart, I for one would like to thank whoever made that decision. Credit where it's due. Or, as is far more likely it was not done because of the second half of their sentance where they say "an...

Re: Could this be the end for some clubs?

What forces people to fold is cash flow. That's where teams could struggle. We should have plenty of notice, but our wage bill is c.£1m a month (slightly more) and we had three games lined up in what I would assume is April's financial month (27th March so after likely monthly payroll, then 3rd and ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

You also the benefit of familiarity, team building, a settled place to develop your game. Chopping and changing a third to half the squad has not been working for us. We know Kerr is a Premiership quality hooker. We know we will always need three of these. Yes we may get a better value player at som...

Re: Can Telusa stay?

People confuse Kolpack signings with free movement. Kolpack players require visas. Nothing about the deal expiring (which it is going to in any case soon, unless the EU roll it over) changes their immigration status. What Kolpack players are about is quotas once in the country. So we have rules that...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

So looking into it Ford can now be a marquee player along with Manu. Which would in theory mean that Ford I think it was roughly said to be £450,000 would be freed up from the salary. Let's assume that Taufua or Lavanini is this season marquee signing for I don't know around £350,000 (I think that ...

Re: Tigers vs Bristol - 04th January 2020

Both Lewis and Reffell are very good defensively but not the biggest ball carriers. If Spencer is back in the row with Lavanini then having them both in the backrow should be fine. Otherwise we might have to draft in Thom Smith or the loan signing to give us some more ballast ball in hand as Green ...

Re: Catering & Bar Feedback Seasons 2017,2018 & 2019/20

I got refused entry to the Robin Hood plaza area yesterday on the grounds that we didn't sit in that stand!!! Every game this season, me and kids have entered in corner of Breedon / Robin Hood stands then gone into the plaza under the Robin Hood for burgers and drinks. We stand and eat there before...

Re: SIMON COHEN AND TOM SCOTT

Other than his £5.5m loan note conversion (for which he extracted c.£1.2m in interest payments first) he has not "put money" into the club, he has purchased shares from other shareholders. That is a very different thing. The club has also been announced for sale only about 18 months to two years af...

Re: SIMON COHEN AND TOM SCOTT

My maths on Scott: Loan notes issued in 2009, took 6 years of interest at £250k a year. So c.£1.2m of interest there. Converted that into a stake of 15% shares for a cash value of £5.5m. He already owned 29.9% but we don't know what he paid for it. Let's assume that was in line with the loan note va...
