Re: Saracens Cap Investigation

Whether the rules are outdated or not, if the rule is in place then Sarries have broken it. If they are genuinely helping players prepare for their future after rugby, they could employee people to help give advice to these players who already earn enough money to make sure they can secure a health...

Re: PRC Round 1 - Warriors vs Tigers

This means the team will be far more developmental than what people were predicting. Perhaps, though Youngs, Clare/Stevens, Green, Wells, Harrison, Forsyth are all "academy graduates", Worth is no longer a young player really. If Kerr and Aspland-Robinson are stretched to be included as "developmen...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

20 players IN 16/17 Players OUT https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2019%E2%80%9320_Premiership_Rugby_transfers#Leicester_Tigers 22 players out, not including Grahamslaw for whatever reason. I'll give you 21 and discount Tait as he did not play last year so wouldn't have been in that salary cap. ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Just to be clear all Leeds players were paid in full for last year. Those with contracts for the coming season, and beyond, became creditors in the club's IVA. They are set to receive 15% of the difference between their Leeds' contract and any one they subsequently sign with another club. The medica...

Re: Food for thought for the keyboard warriors?

For club players you'll get different pressures at different levels but broadly speaking it's security and money. Reserve and fringe players aren't earning huge sums as far as I'm aware. The salary cap, including all credits, is going to be about £7.25 - £7.5m max (excluding the marquee players). Th...

Re: Food for thought for the keyboard warriors?

I wouldn't focus too much on calorie intake, lots of fitness focused people do that kind of thing these days and to be frank it is a prerequisite of being a top pro. Myall's points on England were interesting to me, the whole narrative of playing for England is that it is your "childhood dream", "an...

Re: When the world cup is done and dusted

I'm a big fan of Heyes as well and I want him around in a Tigers shirt for the next decade and some. I don't want to see a young prop continually thrust into senior rugby I want to see him rotated in and out of the team so that he can grow into his role and develop physically so that he's up to the...

Re: When the world cup is done and dusted

We are mostly making the same assumption on which side he will play. There's some highlights reels which show his carrying and I don't see that we would have pursued a player for two seasons if we didn't envisage him being a key part of the squad. As Cortes is very limited (set piece and that's abo...

Re: 'Flexible' pricing

How can flexible pricing be fair to season ticket holders, is it discriminatory against those who are? Literally in what way? Season tickets cost what they cost for 16 games, maybe they'll under cut season ticket prices on a per game basis but I cannot believe even the our genius high ups will do t...

Re: 'Flexible' pricing

We've already had this for years, on the day tickets cost more, we've had bands of matches for a very long time so A* or platinum (I forget our euphemism of choice) games like Saints cost more. If you're happy with the price then pay it, if you're not then don't. The most powerful thing you have is ...

Re: When the world cup is done and dusted

Amazes me how highly some people rate players that they have probably not seen play, even on television. It will be some time after the end of our guys participation in the World Cup that we will see them available for first team action. by then we will have informed opinions about some of the new ...

Re: Ground development

As you can see from the links the last amended plans were submitted to LCC on 12th June.

I don't know how often they have meetings but the final date has not yet been set so it will be at least August.

Re: Ground development

Detailed planning permission has not yet been granted for the hotel on the Granby Halls site, it was granted last month for the multistory on the current Crumbie site.

I am not sure if they are still waiting to do both at the same time or not. If they are this may well be the delay.
