Re: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Is making a loss of £1.9 million last year not a fair judgement on whether the CEO is doing a good job? :smt013 Well someone must think he is doing a good job, he received a 6% pay rise last year taking his total remuneration to £234k, a 26% increase since he took the job in 2011. For someone very ...

Re: Wasps Financials

Without the Ricoh they'd be toast. It's the only profitable part of the business. And even the successful hotel and casino won't save them it seems. They don't appear to have learnt anything from having to leave Adams Park the first time around. It isn't really profitable though, the current year d...

Re: cashless madness - or is it??

Very impressed that some posters have done so much research into the equipment and systems being used by the club and conducted an in depth cost analysis to determine they are using "cheapo kit". Or was the thought process a bit less logical and a bit more grumpy-old-man-rant? Well I can only speak...

Re: Is Lavanini going to be a liability?

I guess for the first 3 games of the season he won’t be a liability as he is banned. He is also according to the bbc the most sin binned player in Argentina rugby history. Given the sinbin has only been introduced this century and Argentina have only played regular high pressure tests since 2013 (i...

Re: Non-England World cup thread 2019

It's illegal to lead with the forearm but refs rarely punish it, Mike Williams loved to do it, especially with the massive arm protector. But it is legal to have your arm by your body and then push off after contact. What is illegal is "striking" your opponent, which I have always taken, and always...

Re: cashless madness - or is it??

I think people may have to accept that this system is in place now and you have 2 choices, Use it and maybe suggest improvements to the club, or don’t use it and get your refreshments elsewhere As per my posts on this thread I have no issue with going cashless but it appears we have been penny pinc...

Re: cashless madness - or is it??

Disappointed personally. These are not proper card terminals but the cheap hand held ones that someone like a window cleaner or taxi driver might use. Connecting via bluetooth I did not have a particularly successful purchase ether time. The first time was at the "third half" where all three machine...

Re: cashless madness - or is it??

According to the Mercury the pre loaded cash card was to have been through Cook's Money, I wonder what would have happened to any money loaded on Friday had they gone bust next week? When we shop we have a choice whether to pay by cash or by card, we also have a choice whether to buy or not, only o...

Re: cashless madness - or is it??

Don't understand why anyone in 2019 needs to avoid using a bank card - unless you're evading tax or money laundering. I'm old, if I use a card I want a receipt , I don't do electronic banking, I suggest you wait till you get old to realise the ease of using cash from your Old Age Pension. Well get ...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation

Whether the rules are outdated or not, if the rule is in place then Sarries have broken it. If they are genuinely helping players prepare for their future after rugby, they could employee people to help give advice to these players who already earn enough money to make sure they can secure a health...

Re: PRC Round 1 - Warriors vs Tigers

This means the team will be far more developmental than what people were predicting. Perhaps, though Youngs, Clare/Stevens, Green, Wells, Harrison, Forsyth are all "academy graduates", Worth is no longer a young player really. If Kerr and Aspland-Robinson are stretched to be included as "developmen...

20 players IN 16/17 Players OUT https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2019%E2%80%9320_Premiership_Rugby_transfers#Leicester_Tigers 22 players out, not including Grahamslaw for whatever reason. I'll give you 21 and discount Tait as he did not play last year so wouldn't have been in that salary cap. ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Just to be clear all Leeds players were paid in full for last year. Those with contracts for the coming season, and beyond, became creditors in the club's IVA. They are set to receive 15% of the difference between their Leeds' contract and any one they subsequently sign with another club. The medica...

Re: Food for thought for the keyboard warriors?

For club players you'll get different pressures at different levels but broadly speaking it's security and money. Reserve and fringe players aren't earning huge sums as far as I'm aware. The salary cap, including all credits, is going to be about £7.25 - £7.5m max (excluding the marquee players). Th...
