Re: Next up London Irish - home - 5th March 2021

This is a srmtrange season but not just because if Covid! Borthwick has had plenty of time to try out and find out about his squad but surely it’s now time to select what he believes( whilst the internationals are away) to be his best fifteen to put a run together to aim for top 4-6. Other teams are...

Re: Has Rugby Got a Fan Problem?

Like in all walks of life there will always be some idiots who aren’t genuine rugby fans. Having supported Tigers home and away since the 80s after I stopped playing all competitive sport in my mid twenties due to knee injuries, my wife and I have, on the whole, had many wonderful, untroubled years ...

Re: 6 NATIONS 2021

Lack of discipline and focus cost England the game not the ref. The Sarries players and quite a few others have played so little rugby this season it’s no surprise the performances are poor. Itoje, great player but how many penalties did he give away? Farrell isn’t a captain as he gets so riled by d...

Re: BRISTOL vs TIGERS - Sat 27 Feb 21 (1300)

Pleased with effort but let’s not kid ourselves Bristol had as many players missing as us. This was an opportunity to get an away win with the right selection. Nearly all of our tries have come from the forwards so to leave Montoya out and then take Lavanini off meant we’d lost our attacking threat....

Re: PREMIERSHIP ROUND 11

Yeandle worse than Wiese as he smashed into the Sale player who was being held by another Chief and held round the neck.
Exeter to me still seem to get away with more high tackles but then again Tigers under Johno got away with things.
Baxter speaking sensibly about the red card.
Good tactics too.

Re: BRISTOL vs TIGERS - Sat 27 Feb 21 (1300)

I’d hoped we’d keep some combinations together too but hope we don't get pasted! With the way the league is I’d hope we’d target a top 6 with an outside chance of top 4 but not a chance if we cannot win away or put a run together. Hate to say it but look at Saints: they’ve kept the same sort of team...

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps

I don’t disagree with Hanro’s red but still think he couldn’t have done much different as Basset took off so quickly and at normal speed you can see Hanro, in a split second thought if I try to compete I’m in trouble! It’s not like other cases I’ve seen where players have no chance of competing but ...

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps

Yes: I really don’t see what Hanro could have done! If he’d tried to put his arms up the flying Wasps would have had a terrible fall. Trouble is the authorities always seem to be really harsh on us. As for Wiese, it was a red but even after 15 minutes Wasps had got away with so many infringements I ...

Re: 20th Feb 2021 - Home vs Wasps

And what about Zac Henry’s kicks to touch that got us the tries again. His kicking from the t will get better. He also tackled brilliantly today causing Wasps to abandon targeting him. Hanford was a bit unlucky as when watching at full speed I don’t see how he could have got out of the way! I was mo...

Re: Tom and Scott loan Tigers money

Well done to both. Hope the “fans” on here praise their support along with all of our fantastic sponsors. Yes we can donate our season ticket money like many of us did last year but Tigers need the generous support of Tom, Scott, Mattioli etc.
Hope fans don’t get cynical. It’s not needed.

Re: Away vs Quins Sat 13th Feb

There is far more to be positive about. Today we looked like scoring more tries than we did in most games last season and the team didn’t fade. Next week will tell us more because Wasps play a similar game to Quins. Give Zac Henry more licence to keep the ball in hand when we get into the opposition...

Re: Away vs Quins Sat 13th Feb

I thought there were lots of positives. In defence of Zac Henry he has been programmed to kick and hasn’t the confidence to change tactics: twice in the final 20 minutes we had built up momentum in their half but Zac kicked the ball away. The lesson to learn is yes, kicking is very important but the...
