Re: COULD WELFORD ROAD BECOME A RUGBY GRAVEYARD?

Last year the season ended in the 83rd minute v Newcastle in the last match... I am a firm believer in fate and wonder if the same is going to happen v Barf... Yes and don't we remember the terrible officials and the injury time "non try!" by Newcastle given by Luke Pearce and the TMO. Here is hopi...

Re: Tigers v Saints

Just looking at Saints "premier signing?" James Haskell who was eventually signed up by Saints having left Wasps abruptly ~ Played 3 games Points scored zero! Good value? But apparently great on social media! :smt015

No but I am fed up of pollsters continually wanting a new coach. The trouble is far higher than the coach!
Oh so it's a "Double decker!" you want now, keep ebaying, but I have full confidence in Geordan and most of his team of coaches.

Re: Sione banned for 5 weeks in reality

Sometimes I think the referee should be yellow or red carded! Permanently in the case of Craig Maxwell Keyes. :smt003 Agreed but the adjudicators do not listen, after his match last Friday @ Sale we see Matthew Carley as the International Referee on Saturday Italy v France with Owens & Brace (Ire) ...

Re: Sione banned for 5 weeks in reality

Is this a precedent? Even entry levels dictate bans set out in weeks,I can't ever remember a match ban,can anyone? The RFU disciplinary bans are in game weeks - weeks where a banned player could have been selected to feature. The classic was the ban to Chris Ashton where Sale tried to include an in...

Re: New Coach?

Well done John a very reasoned response and team analysis; 24 missing from any team is terrible and now we have a 3 match ban on Kalamafoni to add the pressure. So I suggest that you continue to pack your boots in your matchday rucsac! :smt002 I commend you John on your correct spelling of all the p...

Re: Breaks in 6 Nations

Lets us get rid of the breaks, the squads must be large enough to cover injuries. However the "Tackle of the Tournament!" must go to Jonny May v Italian Doctor, see clip ~ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/article-6790479/Jonny-accidentally-tackles-doctor-Englands-Six-Nations-demolition-I...

Re: What gets your goat in the rugby of today?

I agree with Pellsey's concerns and particularly on banning plastic pitches but here is my "Goat Heard!" 1) Ban all Neil Diamond's Sweet Carolines (or any other songs) being played during the match together with banning the home team pa from blasting out support for their team whilst under pressure....

Players begging for yellow cards! Best did it yesterday
I recall seeing a Utube of Wayne refereeing v New Zealand and one of their back row demanding a yellow card, so when Wayne finished with the incident he called the NZ player over and said "If you still want a card then you shall have one!"

Speaking of refs Pearce has had a superb game today imo
Yes he admitted to Stuart Hogg after the final whistle that "having reviewed the incident Pearce should have let play continue then check the alleged obstruction." He agreed that it should have been a try! :smt013

Re: The Derby Round v Northampton - Premiership Rugby Cup

From what I read, Sam Vesty was very complimentary and if the young Tigers were in tears in the locker room, as reported, then I have no doubt due to their commitment and resolve during the game. IMO, competitions like this have different agendas for different clubs. I for one do not give a 'diddly...

Re: Ref at Northampton

Was not able to get to Northampton for business reasons but listened to it on BBC Radio Leicester. The commentators were raging about the referee and his decisions describing him as a novice and worse. Easily conned and way out of his depth. Of course, it doesn't do to criticise officials, no matte...
