Re: Players Awards

I’m just delighted we are back to players with a Tigers Heart. But for me Burns, Steward, Montoya. I know we are a team of exceptional emerging talent and evergreens but Steward in my mind is that once in a generation talent that you know is special from day 1 on the team. And he is still developing...

So basically the club have announced all the signings there's really been any noise about, so how many "under the radar signings" do we think. David Odiase seems to be to only other one that's been heard of at all. https://www.onrugby.it/2022/05/10/italia-u20-31-convocati-per-preparare-le...

Re: EPCR Semi finals

I feel slightly better about last week now. This is the best team in Europe. Completely agree. But what is utterly delightful is we are still growing under SB while Leinster are the finished article and those young Tigers will not be afraid of Leinster if we meet again. It wasn't that long ago that...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

I do agree about Ashton but how many of us were going on his public persona rather than the individual known by Borthwick an WW. The interview he did with Big Jim Hamilton really changed my mind, and he is obviously popular with his teammates. Be nice to see the Ash Splash one more time on the scor...

Re: New captain

Hanro gets my vote every day, closely followed by Montoya. Wells for me is good vc material. In the backs I guess Gopperth or Pollard could both step in to a leadership group.

Lots of future captains though in our younger talent! The future is bright if we can hold on to them.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

Popcorn tastes sweet today. I’m man enough to say I was not a fan of Chris Ashton coming to Tigers. Coming under a cloud was a bit of an understatement. Thought he was a talking liability. BUT he has proved me wrong (and I’m sure a few others), particularly in the past few weeks and deserves the shi...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO

Bit of wider perspective needed I think - I left the stadium gutted but after a wee dram can’t be more proud of Tigers today for so far they’ve progressed in the last few seasons 1. Let’s face it. Leinster are the Ireland International First XV minus a couple, and not just in disguise. One of the be...

Think we are picking at straws with the ref. Leinster we’re a class apart in that half I’m afraid. But we are not out of this until the final whistle goes.

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO

Excitement building for the Tigers v Ireland playing under a different name :smt026 Just to let my prediction be clear Heart says Tigers will win Head says Tigers will win My only genuine worry is the referee deciding the game. The breakdown and scrum always seems a bit Wild West under Raynal. And h...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO

Interesting that there still seem to be loads of seats available for the game. I sometimes struggle to buy additional seats near to where I sit usually, but for this game (and around the ground) that doesn’t seem to be an issue. I purchased our usual seats and then an extra ticket when more seats w...

IMO it has to be. A settled side is needed for consistency in the run in. Leinster is the best test SB can have hoped for. It will certainly help to map out the forthcoming season or two in his "cunning plan"

Re: Bristol (Home) - 30th April 2022 KO 15:00

It’s painful to say it but I have to say Karl Dickson, usually the pantomime villain, was really good yesterday. Let the game flow and listening with ref mike, I thought he was a lot more clearer with the players than previously. Credit where credit is due.

A worthy and fully deserved reception for Tom today. There was a lot of love out there. A club legend in name and deed.
