Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

It's a conservative selection. There's a lot of pressure on DMK right now and that's not conducive to giving an unproven young player a chance.

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

A rather unfortunate typo in the press release for this week's team announcement!
“We can’t change Bristol, or this season, but we can put in two eight-minute performances in these next two games that we can be proud of. “

Re: Tigers v Sale (A) - Premiership - Friday 10th May 2024 - KO: 7:45pm

Freddie is a great fullback. There just happens to be another English lad down the road in George Furbank who's had a better season. And arguably, another down the M1 in Tyrone Green. All evidence points to Freddie being a model pro, so rather than changing positions I think it's time for him to knu...

Re: 23/24 Injury/Suspension/Absent International List

A well-deserved ban for Brown, who should know better.

It doesn't matter if you think Carley was exceptional or awful, he's the referee and you have to respect his position.

Re: Black Lions match

Loved the Cockers interview on BBC RL this week. Always a straight talker, and not only 'gets' the Tigers DNA but is the embodiment of it. I hope he gets a fantastic reception when he comes back to Welford Road tomorrow. Club legend.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Well he's starting against Georgia Fear I’ve kicked a hornets nest with my Whitcombe comment! I would like to see how he goes in a first choice front row, then we can make a more informed comment. Hope he goes well on Friday. It's a fair comment. Our LH props have all had decent (if unspectacular) ...

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00

Bristol fans seem to be viewing it differently... their forum is talking about the confidence to stick with the strategy in adversity, about their resilience, about their fitness levels, about their ability to win the last 14mins of the game 21-0.

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00

Away from our performance, what Bristol are doing is nothing short of revolutionary in the current English game. Pretty much every other DoR in the land has their team box kicking between their try line and the 10m. Informed by data, so we're told. 30 kicks in 30mins in Bath v Sarries? Bristol were ...

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00

I was sat in the Mattioli Woods Stand and watching us spend most of the first half in their 22, I began to pity our players. So much ball, so much territory, so many phases, but quite frankly they looked like they could've played all day and still wouldn't figure out how to deconstruct a defence. Th...

Re: New Tigers Shirt

£140 for a shirt!?

At the bottom of the club shop page there's a 'You might also like' link to a Tigers doormat, which seems apt. They're walking all over us with those kind of prices.

Oh for the days of 12,769 people heading down to Welford Road on a Monday night to watch the A League Final... https://media.gettyimages.com/id/57410244/photo/guinness-a-league-final-leicester-tigers-a-v-harlequins-a.jpg?s=2048x2048&w=gi&k=20&c=1PyTuAN1ax6Xf8LaFUJOXYY_is8FVD_VMf38BLnINqI=

Re: suggestions about moving Freddie into the centres... the other option available to DMK is moving Handré to #12. In his last season for Montpellier, he started outside Garbisi more often than as the fly-half himself. That would allow us to get another ball player into the team. The challenge is, ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I agree - we have talented, international players in our backline. But we have a malfunctioning system. Our double WC winner barely makes an imprint on games. Kelly and OHC have gone from international recognition to a prolonged struggle for form. The master of the skies, Fred, has lost his Eng plac...

Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05

Leicester Tigers fought bravely against Saint-de-Northants but ultimately lost the East Midlands derby. Dan McKellar's side kept pace with their star-studded hosts until halftime, but Phillipe Dowson called upon an embarrassment of riches from the bench and watched his side pull away.
