Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm

Thought we got away with a few there for sure, but dont forget playing the ref is part of the game, and one of the reasons home advantage is so important in this comp. Good point. Leinster's 'accidentaly' falling onto the wrong side of the ruck and holding players on the ground reminded me of how R...

Pre-Ealing, there wasn't much to suggest Phil C could earn another contract. But he's been in good form the past few weeks and has been arguably our best centre. He has the natural ability to do things that players like Porter and Scott never could, but I guess with Kata and Perese signed on for nex...

Re: Over the cap (again)

I agree with @johnthegriff that an explanation is a reasonable expectation here. @sk88, I also take your point that there can be very complicated accountancy at-play here. To find yourself breaching the cap so many times suggests inattentive financial management. And this inattention has brought the...

Re: Over the cap (again)

So this is more overspending discovered from a season we already breached the salary cap in. It begs the question, did the club knowingly not disclose this to PRL, or did PRL not identify it as 'salary cap spend' in the first audit? The former would be a cover-up by the club. The latter would call i...

It doesnt help Whiteley has been at 9, when he is patently Championship standard at the very best, and Pollard is not on song. Youngs is so slow now he is the McDonalds to JVP's rare wagyu beef. Youngs does absolutely nothing apart from box kick and pass----slowly . Where is his Devil may Care atti...

I agree with most of the criticism of the team, however, it's worth acknowledging...

In all my years watching rugby I can't ever recall a team holding out when 15 vs. 12. But we did! Miraculous! And for young Finn to come up with the ball at the end was a wonderful moment.

Re: Tigers v Newcastle (A) - Premiership - Friday 29th March 2024 - KO: 19-45

The team selection feels less important this week than how we approach the game. We've got to try and find some fluency with ball in hand. We've got to find more ways to hurt the opposition than our driving maul. After this it's Leinster and Saints and we won't beat either of them with the hyper-pra...

The club ought to be able to get a statement out to fans about a player leaving before he gets his new kit on!

Re: Saracens - Harlequins TMO

I think Austin is doing his job as a co-commentator by describing incidents like this as he sees them. It would be peculiar if it was shown on a replay and the commentary team didn't acknowledge it. It's a bit semantic, but for me, the only issue is with his calling for officials to look at an incid...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

The pack doesn't need skills, it just needs to get over the gameline for me. I'd argue we look as mediocre as we do because we don't prioritise forward skills. A sidestep, a dummy, an offload, keeping the ball off the floor are all ways of breaking the gainline, and are all employed by the best for...

Death by pragmatism. DMK has to have more than this up his sleeve, because the rest of the league already figured us out when Borthwick was still here. We're always told that this approach is driven by what the data says. Well... Tigers analysis team, please can you add a note to last night's data t...
