Re: Tigers vs Gloucester - Teams Up

Sometimes sport is beyond analysis.

Last season (AKA last month), we had a soft underbelly. One of the few positives was a reliable lineout.

This weekend, we were resolute. One of the few negatives was an unreliable lineout.

Re: Wigglesworth in!

Class debut. Arguably one of our best scrum-half performances for a couple of years, for intelligence and game management.

There is box kicking. And then there's Wigglesworth's box kicking.

Re: Geordan Murphy leaves the club!

I guess finally Tigers have muddled their way to the right answer. This is a succinct way of summing up the last few years. What puzzles me is that on 1 July the club 'created' a DoR role and promoted Geordan into it. Just four months later, we've effectively made the role redundant by saying we no...

Yeah, I see your point. It's a depressing reality, but, it's reality.

Re: Sarries and Ealing to be promoted

How do you think every other club got there? Rugby turned professional in 96/97 and since then Falcons, L.Irish, Bristol, Worcester, L.Welsh, Exeter, Leeds, Saints, Quins and Rotherham all earned promotion through either a play-off or winning the league. They earned promotion by paying higher salar...

Re: Sarries and Ealing to be promoted

Sarries getting a free promotion is unsavoury, but the prospect of Ealing being able to purchase their place in the Premiership is rotten. How do you think every other club got there? Re: England Training Squad announced

You'd think the Sarries players in particular might have been extra cautious given their 'meaningful' matches are going to be few and far between for the next year.

Re: Tigers vs Quins - 04 Oct 20 15:00

It's jumping to conclusions to suggest that the club or the players are culpable.

I'd suggest starting with, 'Worrying news, hope the players and staff are OK and not suffering severe symptoms, a Prem game is of little importance compared to people's health'...

Re: Tigers vs Bristol

@westwinds31 You make some good points. It's a pragmatic way of looking at our current plight. What was I expecting? I'm over the moon we've got Borthwick but, I have to be honest, I thought he would be able to do more in the short term than he has. Not leaping up the table - that's for another year...

Re: Tigers vs Bristol

All you lot moaning about style of play, selection, coaching etc....what is the way forward then ? To not 'moan' at getting hammered (again) by 37pts is to accept our current status. To accept our current status is to accept that we will lose almost every game we play. And to accept we'll lose almo...

Re: Tigers vs Bristol

I'm worried. Really worried.

Not just after tonight - we played a development team and we're deservedly battered - but looking back on all of our performances since the restart.

We're the worst team in the league and it's going to need an immense effort to avoid relegation next season.

"The Premiership forced relegation on Saracens"

Paul Rees consistently glosses over the reality of Saracens' financial doping.

The depth chart is looking much healthier with a guy like Bonilla coming in. Arguably, we've one too many FHs now! McPhillips is probably fourth choice but he signed an extension back in May so I guess we'll have them all around next season https://www.planetrugby.com/johnny-mcphillips-extends-leice...
