Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 - Prisoner of Oadby Pre-Season

It was a great article looking at several clubs, including notable info on salaries agreed e.g. Zach Mercer on £450k pa for 4 years at Glos, Aj MacGinty on £475k at Briz and Jonny Hill on £350k at Sale. All of which feel like poor value for money to me! Every time I look at our squad I cannot help b...

Re: George Ford and Handrè Pollard discussions

George Ford is an incredible player, underrated by many Tigers fans. Handre Pollard will have to go some to be better than GF imho but his credentials suggest he's capable. Replacing Genge is far more of an issue IMHO. We could never replace genge like for like, but on field we may find cronin a be...

Re: George Ford and Handrè Pollard discussions

Firstly, I love George Ford. A great tactician on the field whose control of territory was a cut above any other during the regular league season and semifinal. If I was to pick a fly half to navigate the season it would be him over Pollard. However, perhaps unfairly, my impression is he is 1 rung b...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2022/23 - Prisoner of Oadby Pre-Season

Just had a Google to see that Tom Horton was in the same Sydney uni squad as guy porter and Harry potter. Article below has him as replacement: https://www.sydneyunirugby.com.au/article/meet-the-shute-shield-grand-final-team Certainly a ringing endorsement from Rob Taylor at the time. Hope he stays ...

Re: Clermont (Away) - Sunday 10th April 2022

Just wanted to add that singing this during and after the Clermont game really did add to what was already a special afternoon on Sunday. I hope this does become an adopted anthem at home, but have no doubt that the travelling contingent will continue to sing it at away days after Sunday's success, ...

Re: New kit 21/22

I do like the white change kit. Feels a bit rugby league. My wife tells me they aren't my colours tho sadly. Home kit is a bit meh, best bit is that the Topps tiles logo stands out less, it looks like it doesn't have the black rectangle round it. Could be wrong. As with last year it's the training k...

Re: Lions 2021

yup, that's the one - Marcell Coetzee. I have had an absolute mare tho, he has actually not been selected in the SA squad for the series. Coetzee is not playing FOR the Bulls this weekend because of Covid.

Re: Lions 2021

Yes, SA playing Bulls, apols Scott. I was genuinely worried Wiese would be out for 6 months the way he reacted to the tackle.. If Vermeulen is out it does open the door, but I suspect Wiese is also behind Coetzee in pecking order who has yet to really feature due to Covid protocols. Plenty of rugby ...

Re: Lions 2021

Wiese on bench for SAs warm up v stormers tomorrow. Good news, as think a few of us were fearing the worst after LCD's hit on him. Van Staden starts again. Thought he was great vs Lions, was always in the right place, an effective pest at breakdown and very physical. Suspect he is more likely to hav...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns

Very excited by Sinfield in a defence role. The guy is a proven winner and if nothing else should add to our teams mental toughness. Will we see an attack coach appointment today? On Simon Barbour it says he's taken a head analyst role at Loughborough - good for him. Think it's notable that Andrea P...

Not senior players so much but maybe more academy level.
Scouting rugby league more due to their skillset is something Jan mentioned in one of the lttv interviews when he was here.

Re: Championship rugby

Yeah don't think it's cause to question his commitment to Tigers, particularly as he's been involved with both of those clubs - Ealing's attack not getting a look in today. It was the sling that caught my eye.
Sure he had a good night with Tigers yday.

Just seen Richard Wigglesworth at the Ealing v Saracens game, his right arm in a sling.

Re: THE BIG ONE - Wasps (A) - 12th June 2021

That makes me feel quite nostalgic to the 'good old days' of Tigers. Getting the club suspension in first in the hope of a more lenient official ban.

Suspect this is tip of the iceberg from last weekend.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE VI: The Return of the Burns

Tom Manz got recognition at eng u20s recently and is a big lad at 6ft8in, hopefully he'll start factoring into discussions next year too. I'm very happy with the production line we have for young locks / lineout 6s at the minute and given the market rate for the position is so high it does not feel ...
