Re: Edinburgh match.
Policy of rotation is understandable but this is European Cup. To leave Ben Youngs out of 23 is not a good call, unless he is carrying a knock. Imagine if JVP gets injured in first 5 mins. BY has had minimal rugby in last 3 months. Wolstenholme could make 23 for Exeter. No major quibble with other c...

Re: Championship rugby
I agree - 14 - indeed 13 is too many teams. Reintroduction of relegation from prem will just be yoyo though, but something has to give - Prem Cup perhaps? Championship promotion will just be yoyo too. Everyone quotes exeter but Prem is very different now.

Re: George Fords Departure - Why ?
My own view - once Tigers ditched his Dad it was only a matter of time. I suspect they are quite a tight knit family and GF was bound to vote with his feet at some point.

Will George be in a taxi at 7pm tonight heading for a reunion with Eddie. I really hope not but if he is I hope he takes a very big slice of humble pie for Eddie to consume.

In an unprecedented sanction the authorities have reversed the match result and awarded it to Sarries 12-6 - ok only joking but it would be good to hear outcome

Re: TV Coverage
It is 11 days until we kick off, 10 for the Friday night game and still no kick off times. I know it’s a case of he who pays the piper calls the tune but BT are really messing us around. We haven’t even been told when we will be told. No other sport would put up with this.

Re: Provisional Premiership Return Date ?
No fans in crowd anytime soon. See Johnson’s announcement today 31 July.
So TV for everyone. I fail to understand with 14 days to go why there are no kick off times available.
Is this BT or Prem Rugby delay or have I missed something.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Episode 3 The revenge of the Contracts.
Some clarity at least, surely the Taufua thing needs sorting one way or another asap for both parties. Agree on both points. Maybe wishful thinking but I suspect, or at least hope, that we are now on a much sounder financial footing than most other clubs. Ours has been a much more radical approach ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2
Over the past 4-5 seasons I would be surprised if Manu has averaged more than 10 games a season for Tigers which equates to £45k per game. IMO we would be far better served in recruiting a centre with no international commitments so that we are able to develop a game plan which does not solely invo...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2
If Tigers unilaterally terminated Tuilagi's contract for no good reason and he was only able to get a contract at another club on a lower wage, he could well be entitled to claim the difference as compensation for damages arising from breach of contract. However, I don't think that is the situation...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2
Unless Tigers are paying half his wages... Have I missed something but if we pay we decide if he plays and who he plays for surely. He can sit in his home gym until he agrees settlement with us and then moves on. He will be claiming compensation for his lost 25% but we need not hurry. Obviously at ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 2
Good summary. Only other negotiation point is the voluntary 25% cut in salary that preceded this.
Do players have a claim on it and could it be a lever on both sides to get a clean break so all parties can move on.
