Re: Dan Mckellar
It isn’t just Aled conditioning work either, it was that larger than life character that he brought to the team environment that hasn’t been replaced. Only need to watch some of the recent England videos to see the positive effect that has This. Aled brought the squad to life. He wasn't a court jes...

Re: Dan Mckellar
Really should be an Aled Walters thread. I have ad nauseam pointed out that SB wasn't the loss, it was AW. Players who are megafit don't knock on, they reach those passes, hit those gaps, make those tackles etc., and win games in the last quarter. For various reasons we have become adept at losing,...

Re: Not a new kit Launch.... Tigers Together membership
Personally I don't have a problem with this, does it further segregate supporters? Possibly but I don't see how its any different to season tickets and certain supporters being allowed to go to forums etc while others wouldn't even know they were happening. We've seen in the past that cash flow has...

The good news is a European kit is a thing next season.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
Sorry that Whitley took flack from the fans, he is young but the question is why did he come over to the Crumbie and argue, he should have stayed away over in the middle? Presumably he came over to thank the fans for attending the game, copped an earful, and responded, as emotions were no doubt hig...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
Alex Dombrant went from Uni rugby to Prem first team. Freddie Steward went from Loughborough Students to starring for us, as did Dan Kelly. University rugby is a good standard, the BUCS league has teams with professional levels of set up. Three very different journeys there though. Steward had a st...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
My advice to Ealing is:- go ahead and apply for planning permission, this wouldn't be at a massive cost and it would show the RFU they are serious. It may also attract extra fans knowing this and wishing to see Prem rugby. If the RFU stil lsay no, but the Planning Permission is granted, then the cl...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
If the criteria is budget, infrastructure, fan base rather than on the field performance than you are talking about US-style franchising which everyone seems to be against. I think that's a really poor comparison. We're talking about championship rugby. Let's compare a couple of clubs, Ealing and D...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
I guess this is my issue with Ealing at the moment. They are paying the players and getting in a team that is a fair heft above others in the league but, despite their statements, they are not doing anything to comply with current requirements and nor are their crowds, from my limited knowledge, an...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
Sums up rugby for me, we'd rather argue about what we don't have than bring in what we do have. Two clubs with say 5k stadiums is an extra 10k bums on seats every weekend and an additional game every week for TV/Marketing/ Sponsors. Fact alert: Ealing can't even manage a steady average of 1000. The...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
This club statement would suggest they do https://www.ealingtrailfinders.com/news/club-statement-rfu-minimum-standards A statement like that doesn't have to reflect the true feelings or ambitions of the ownership. That's just PR language that reinforces the victim narrative. See my post above. For ...
