Re: PRC Round 4 - Tigers vs Saints

The red could be debated all day, but TPN didn’t need to make the referee and AR have to make a decision. Foolish. I don’t suppose that you have ever made a mistake in your job :smt003 Daily. I learn from them though. You’d hope as a group and individually - after last season and with the current f...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

I imagine McPhillips was signed to replace Joe Ford as he has shown great potential in the past so was worth a try. However, it seems that Hardwick must have been smashing it in training and has leapfrogged him to 3rd choice fly half, especially as he can also cover 12. His offload against Exeter w...

Re: PRC Round 3 - Bath vs Tigers

Probably niggles holding back Viljoen and Taute, good team, let’s hope Green renews the coaches faith, hoping for a good win! Not sure if we’re just holding back before the season starts in earnest. The final PRC squad will be interesting but I wonder if the centres will feature Eastmond/Taute/Vilj...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Johnny McPhillips has joined Doncaster Knights on loan from Leicester Tigers until the end of the season on a dual-registered contract. Obviously the coaching set up has faith in Hardwick covering 10 this season. Looked good in preseason. Wow that's a statement. Our flyhalf is with England but we'd...

Great news, I think this means Geordan DoR and Borthwick head coach or vice versa.
I think you’ve got it right. Geordan overseeing the overall picture but the vastly more experienced (better?) coach running the team itself.

Re: TMO question

I may have missed something, but when did the question the ref asks change. Noticed this World Cup that instead of the "any reason I cannot " type questions now they are saying " on field decision is/not a try". Better in my opinion It changed last season I think, certainly in Test matches. Much be...

Thomas Cook

It’s been confirmed overnight that sadly Thomas Cook have ceased trading. This includes their Sport arm.

I assume the club will have news for anyone who had booked away travel later today.

This is now the Thomas Cook Sport webpage.

Shame on RFU for not getting this sorted earlier.
Nowt to do with the RFU at the moment? All Prem Rugby surely.

Either way, I fear Saracens will drag domestic rugby - as we know it - down with them.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

How can Liebenberg be Denton's replacement? They did not know Denton was definitely retiring when they purchased him. So surely there's Denton's salary money left in the kitty A) Tigers may have known for some time he would retire and so chose to announce it at a mutually beneficial time. B) If Den...

A real real shame, had great potential for the club.

i wonder who will come in to replace him, know the club had someone lined up in case he wasn't ready and fit for the coming season
To be fair the back row is quite well resourced with Boledau in on loan.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

I wouldn't bank on Dentons cap being free. Sadly none of us are salary cap experts. Of course if there was an element of “timing” (the least important thing in the big scheme of things), it would be advantageous to have a decision made before the cap is “set in stone”/declared for the season etc, a...

Stephen Jones the former fly-half or Stephen Jones of The Sunday Times? :smt003

I guess we all expected this announcement, I feel very sorry for the guy but he has made a wise decision, long term health is more important than any short term rugby success. Good luck David and all the best for the future. +1 As Strawclearer said "once a Tiger, always a Tiger." :smt038 +2 I was d...
