Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

Spend the money on a big back instead or Denton’s replacement should we need it. Denton's contracted for next season, so surely if he's still unable to play at the by RWC time, then there will be injury dispensation leeway available (funds permitting). We may not need to replace him directly, but a...

Re: David Mele to return to Tigers?

So whats the big gain? Big gain is he could be another highly regarded coach like Gustard. You don’t know until you see his work. Just maybe he’ll show an aptitude for coaching whilst with the academy, that can then transition to seniors. If if's and ands Which would likely apply to any coaching ap...

Purdy if he is available would be a great option as can cover wing and 13 too

Odogwu should be playing in the championship if not lower
Like at Sale FC.

Lovely man or not, he’s not a Premiership squad member, certainly not for a team with top 4 ambitions.

Don’t think so. Clearly a development eye on this squad, which wouldn’t help any of the Glaws players listed above.

If we could have this shirt made by one of the big boys, Adidas, Nike, CCC I'd be well happy!
But you won’t. :smt001

Arguably, twinkle toes ball returning aside, Veainu played some of his best rugby at 14 in his first season.

Personally, from what we’ve seen, CB could be a useful addition to our back three options.

Re: New coaching structure?

I think this Ford news in interesting. The implication is that we may have lined up someone post RWC or for the back end of next season perhaps?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

Would be very surpised if Blommetjies stays. He wants to but we currently don't have the cash. Which is worth reminding people that he was on loan til the end of the season, which implies he’s very much still Scarlets’ player next season. Otherwise he’d have been released to us. As it stands though...

Re: New Kit

Kukri's deal is not up, they are contracted for the next couple years I think. The kit manufacturer isn't something Tigers control directly as its subcontracted to a company who's name I forget. Cohen said they are currently trying to work a way of getting a different manufacturer but in the mean t...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

Seriously all this talk about taking 3 years to getting back to the top of English rugby. If we persist with Murphy that is massively optimistic whereas appoint a world class DOR now who knows what his is doing and it shall happen quicker! Was Mark McCall a world class DoR when appointed by Sarries...

Speaking for myself I haven't a clue. I wouldn't have a clue about player recruitment either. I mean who would have said we should sign Ayerza, TV, Genge, Parling. The best signings are the ones nobody knows about.
They are also some of the hardest to keep hold of too.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

It is to so much about the top academy players leaving; the past few years it has been they have been got rid of on the pretext that they are not good enough only to prove that with a bit of patience and nurturing they do come good? Who? Nurturing where? Who has left our academy to go straight into...

Re: Tigers vs Bath

I believe this is an opportunity missed, and is an ideal game for selecting the youngsters, but G.M. has deemed it otherwise, and we have to respect his decision. Maybe some of the "cart horses" will rise to the occasion. Hope springs eternal. To be fair, before our next "competitive" fixture, he'l...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

Looking at RBS list there is a maximum of one development player in any one position, none in some. Agree some strengthening required but the beauty of next season is that the earlier running of the premiership cup means players can be tried out at a competitive level. Of course RB's list doesn't i...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

'The Australian' reports Matt Toomua is training with the Rebels and is in the mix to play against the Bulls on Friday night. He's gone. Didn't even want to stick around to say goodbye at Welford Road, good riddance then. It's disappointing to find out he holds us in such low regard. Reports , but ...
