Re: Exiles set for Exile?

It is a bit of a shame that one of those boys has gone full Le Tissier/Lawrence Fox because this is where they have always been very good. I assume they let the lawyer (Phil?) write this post... Really don't like to be a doom monger but this thread paints a pretty dreadful picture for the future of ...

Re: Exiles set for Exile?

It's possible he'd only read that article rather than some kind of secret insider knowledge! Presumably if it were that bad, there would be a need for a sale, which would have probably hit the news by now. Still it is concerning. So obviously this is conjecture but a friend got a sports massage from...

Re: Exiles set for Exile?

So obviously this is conjecture but a friend got a sports massage from the Exiles' physio (or one of them, I imagine they have a few) and was told that two other clubs are about to go to the wall. Falcons and, erm, well, apparently we are. Is that bogus? How worried are we/should we be?

Anyone else in absolute bits. Last time I cried was the birth of my son (in the bath, with a glass of wine, like a real man…) and just lost it when I saw Tom with the players

Re: England Squad for down under

Ewels and Manu are different kettles of fish mind you. Ewels has honestly never looked international standard whereas we all know that Manu - when fit (massive caveat) - is a world XV contender. I would like to think Chessum will gradually start manoeuvring Ewels out of contention. Eddie likes playe...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2020-21

Get the sense that Jones might quite like Kelly. I think it's best he avoided the dumpster fire that was our Six Nations, would have been a complete hiding to nothing this Spring. FWIW I'm also not sure Lawes should be in the England XV. The RWC showed he's not actually heavy/strong enough to be the...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

Isn’t Ashton a short term deal that will surely go up in price next year if he re-signs? Even if he wants to be here, he’s surely not going to pay for as little in season 2? Personally - would keep Ashton over someone new simply because we had so much turnover and the squad seems pretty settled now....

Re: Bristol in the mire

How is it possible that a professional club could make such a basic contractual error? This isn’t a violation (yet, and aware that Tigers are in a bit of a glass house on that front!), it’s just rank incompetence. That Genge video looks worse and worse with every second.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

I think for me, with Ashton, it’s just sample size. He’s been really disjointed over the last couple of seasons so if he gets back to his best then sure, it’s definitely a conversation with Potter. But I felt Potter simply because he’s been a real find and is a brilliant counterpoint to Nadolo (like...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

I look at the current options and unless Nadolo does indeed leave I don't think we need any new backs next season, assuming the juggling of all the centres gets sorted. A Moroni extension would be excellent but we do have a lot of talent in depth nowadays. Out of interest, what do people think our &...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

Would I be right in saying a number of Argentinian players have dual nationality with Italy or have I made that up Very true, but knowing which ones is the trick If you can ever be bothered, look up “Oriundi” - super interesting and slightly peculiar geographical quirk. Culturally it makes sense bu...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

Also Genge is basically a freak - I reckon the most talented NH prop since Jenkins, I don’t think anyone should fixate on a direct replacement because it won’t happen. Whitcombe’s “fundamentals” appear solid which means he can work on other aspects of his game. Cole wasn’t exactly a turnover king in...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

Got to say after yesterday I'm more confident in Whitcombe being capable in a no. 1 shirt without Genge. It was also noticeable how Sarries only started getting on top of our scrum after Leatigaga came on. We definitely need some depth at Tighthead more than Loosehead IMO... Yes and no - Cole and H...

Re: Saracens (Away) - Saturday 05th March 2022 - KO 3-00pm

Looking at the 23 and thinking “yeah that’s pretty good” but also acknowledging that there’s no Cole, Montoya, Genge, Van Staden, Liebenberg, Youngs, Kelly, Saumaki, Steward and even Ashton. That’s what, 350 international caps and 9 full internationals (and Hanro who would surely be if he weren’t be...
