Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD

Are people talking about Jake Kerr, international hooker? I think he’ll be nailed on starter in the 2 shirt far earlier than the end of the season. GF will captain the side with OTY remaining as “club captain”. Agree with this 100%, OTY has been a great servant but I'm not even convinced he's in th...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

Nearly got them all. Mahoney, Tuilagi and Evans are the only ones i'm massively sad about. No Harrison although talk is he could be going mid season next year. I heard Harrison is off to Australia (for a coaching gig?) at the start of 2020, presumably delaying to cover YBY being at the World Cup?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 7

Perhaps on a more positive note, I was in Newcastle in the weekend (dressed as a safari hunter, best not to ask...) when I spoke to a couple of Leinster fans who said we were getting a real gem of a player in Noel Reid

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19

I completely agree, there are very few signings that would do this for me but I'd rather watch Joey Ford bumble about at 10. I'm also sure there must be better 10s coming free this summer. Folau, Bastareaud, Huget and Calum Clarke are probably my other "please god don't sign them" players. Obviously...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6

Fair point about OTY, I guess I default to that as Club Captain. But the point remains, there's a fair bit of depth - if you can pick an international hooker (Kerr) and still have TPN or OTY on the bench then you're in with a shot. (or should be!) Genge/OTY/Cole/Green/Lavanini/Taufua/Thompson/Lieben...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 6

And I missed Bateman! And Costelow! The more I think about it I can't wait for the season to end so we can get on with the next one... I feel like I could get rinsed for saying this, but I'm actually pretty excited about the squad next season, if the rumours are all to be believed. I also think we'l...

I feel like I could get rinsed for saying this, but I'm actually pretty excited about the squad next season, if the rumours are all to be believed. I also think we'll stay up, since I don't see Falcons winning both games and certainly not with bonus points - so even if we somehow get even worse, we'...

Harlequins sign Landajo. Odd signing when they have Care who ain’t being called up these days.
Suspect the recent Robson news will see Care back in, can't believe that EJ would take Spencer as his second choice 9 to a World Cup.

Bath being linked to Anscombe for 500,000.
Also welsh clubs sounding like they are in a right mess money wise.
If true that could have interesting implications for recruitment, but also thinking longer term, for retention as would surely help hang onto Holmes (and Reffell)...?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 5

I agree with this, I suspect that with everyone available Reid goes to 12 and Manu 13, presumably with GM trying to get Hardwick more involved at 10/12 where possible and Taute covering 13? A "World Cup" backline of White, Hardwick, Olo, Reid, Taute/Eastmond, TV and Worth (/Thompstone) would be gree...

Re: The Six Nations 2019

So i saw one doing the rounds on Twitter that is much more close up but this is the French footage which doesn’t show much. But Sinckler sounded pretty adamant he hadn’t started it. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x725yy0 Obviously he shouldn’t be getting suckered into this sort of thing but I kin...

Re: The Six Nations 2019

Not sure if I missed this but has everyone seen the face scratch (and let's face it, where the French pack is concerned, there's always a risk he was going for the eyes) by the French lad first? Quite obviously that doesn't absolve Sinckler (who one imagines will eventually pay a heavy price for thi...

Re: The Six Nations 2019

I think it's all academic now anyway. With only having a 31 man squad, the way Eddie has approached this 6N and the brilliant emergence of Wilson it tells me that we are going to Japan with 6 props and 5 BR (which is what I would do anyway) so bar injuries it's a shootout between Shields and Hughes ...

Do we think Lood De Jager is realistic?

It might be the plan, but getting it over the finish line would still take a fair effort.
