Re: Ellis Genge comments on 'Outdated Playing Contracts'

I'm sure, as h's dad says, existing contracts can be varied (time off to visit family abroad or whatever) but a strength of the current system is everyone is on the same basic contract and everyone else knows it. I am sure this makes for a quieter, less stressed dressing room with less room for jea...

Re: DoR?

To my mind GM is not a great head coach. However since he joined the coaching and management side there has been a significant improvement with the academy which he has contributed to. I think the club always planned him being DOR and he was only warming the Head coach chair till they got the right...

Re: Pat Howard

...If Pat Howard's advice is to play a kick chase game as a template to the future success of the Tigers, then what is the point of getting in a coach who has an alternative approach!!! We cannot mandate that every potential coach adhere to this method of play, especially if the ideology is wrong. B...

Re: Tigers vs Bristol

Not condoning the performance as it wasn't good but criticism of kicking in those circumstances is a bit naive. It was wet and Leicester were being taken apart at the scrum, not an ideal situation to start chucking the ball about. Bristol were far superior and even they suffered many knock ons. ..o...

Re: Tigers vs Bristol

It’s so easy to be an armchair pundit, I get the attacks been pretty awful all day but the weather’s been awful, tactics aren’t in place yet and this team hasn’t played together. It’s so difficult to read someone sat at home handing out grief about the team he supposedly supports when they’re havin...

Latest club update in Kobus was here: https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/rugby/rugby-news/leicester-tigers-news-tom-youngs-4494118.amp However a couple of days ago someone on here suggested his Instagram was saying he was on his way (I don't have Instagram so can't check, if anyone can quote ...

Re: Midweek Game - Wed 09 Sep Away to Wasps

Personally I'm laughing at the moaners. These are dead games! SB has been given a golden opportunity to find out about his players and his coaches (and I expect a small turnover in the next few months). If by next Easter we see no improvement, then moan. I really think none on here have been in a t...

Re: Midweek Game - Wed 09 Sep Away to Wasps

...so far Wasp has been the only team not to take their foot off the gas!!! We have covered over the cracks with our comebacks in previous games but Wasp took the opportunity to put the points on us and the most disappointed person tonight would be Dallaglio who I suspect would be furious they did n...

Re: Tigers vs Sale - 05 Sep 20

...we still do not have a ground game so we go to the air!!! Ford getting stick for today's performance but he has so far been brilliant since the restart. Kicking wasn't accurate and going long was not a bad option as the object was to play in their 22, and playing from there, we just failed to kee...

Re: Gloucester vs. Tigers - Sun 30 Aug 20 (1630)

..there has been noticeably no comments regarding moving the ball through hands!!! Is that because we are not working on forward play at the moment or are we just choosing to ignore it. We kick a lot of balls away as we cannot move up the pitch with ball in hand and inevitably kick for position. We ...

Re: Teams up v Bath

...am I missing something here!!! Why are we electing to field such a weakened team against Bath, a team looking to finish in the top four and playing what I believe to be the stronger team against London Irish in an obviously winnable game with or without our best team. Squad rotation is all very w...

I guess the axe fell when someone asked him a question, and he (the CEO) replied "I'm not responsible for that.........." just one too many times.

Re: Sarries players cock-up again!

The players have apologised for "any upset caused". Not for their actions. That's the sort of thing I say if someone complains to me but I think I/we have done nothing wrong. To be fair to them though, the lockdown is over in all but name, the roads and parks near me are as busy as ever. No one car...

Re: Good job Burns has left Bath...

Burns shows sparks of brilliance, but that's it. Had a good run 2007-14 with a mediocre/poor Gloucester side, came to Tigers and did a good job filling in for a long time injured Williams until a better FH deal was made. Played second fiddle to a much better FH at Bath. Apart from his time at Glouc...

Re: Rob Taylor joins as Assistant Coach

Whether it is Paddy Howard or Glynn, it is a welcome addition to the ranks. Credit across the board though for some inspired signings in the coaching set up. Can't help but think Stevie B has had some input. You don't just say hello Mr Borthwick - welcome here's what you've got to work with. Or do ...
