Re: Good job Burns has left Bath...

Burns shows sparks of brilliance, but that's it. Had a good run 2007-14 with a mediocre/poor Gloucester side, came to Tigers and did a good job filling in for a long time injured Williams until a better FH deal was made. Played second fiddle to a much better FH at Bath. Apart from his time at Glouc...

Re: Rob Taylor joins as Assistant Coach

Whether it is Paddy Howard or Glynn, it is a welcome addition to the ranks. Credit across the board though for some inspired signings in the coaching set up. Can't help but think Stevie B has had some input. You don't just say hello Mr Borthwick - welcome here's what you've got to work with. Or do ...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!

Any thoughts on Genge setting himself up as rugby's Jimmy Hill? https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/rugby-union/england/news/england-prop-ellis-genge-announces-plans-to-create-new-players-union_397804.html I’m split to be honest. On one hand it’s a good idea but then on the other, they are disappointed at...

Re: Board of Director changes

.. this could probably be the precursor to the sale of the club!!
The probability is that prior to taking the reigns the new owners have insisted that there was no need for their presence on the new board.!

Re: Joe Batley signed on loan today

Leicester Tigers have signed utility forward Joe Batley on loan from fellow Premiership side Bristol Bears. The 23-year-old has turned out twice for the Bears so far this season, with both appearances coming in the Premiership Cup. Batley can be recalled to Bristol at any time and has also been on ...

Re: Mark Bakewell - gone? (Rumour)

Craig Newby on Twitter: ' Yet again another sacking mid season. This demonstrates the clubs lack of planning and development from the top down. A knee jerk reaction to wall paper over the grand canon cracks that are apparent for all to see but the club themselves.' 'When will this stop and someone ...

Re: SIMON COHEN AND TOM SCOTT

I think that people posting on this thread should be absolutely certain of their facts before posting, and state their sources, too often it seems that the source for facts is actually another persons post. Our Board have made mistakes in the past, I doubt there is a Board of Directors anywhere in ...

Re: Mark Bakewell - gone? (Rumour)

How is this positive news in anyones eyes beggars belief. Here we are facing a genuine relegation battle where stability at he club apparently matters so much we can't sack Murphy, and now we have an experienced coach leaving under a huge cloud. We then replace him in the interim with another ineff...

Re: SIMON COHEN AND TOM SCOTT

To suggest that Matt O'Connor is the 'one mistake' - is to take a very big all purpose eraser, to scrub clean the pages, and completely re-write history. [/quote] It was not the only mistake but it was certainly the worst mistake. I sometimes think we underestimate the depth of the damage he did to...

Re: The Premiership is Boring, how to improve it

coaches need to learn they have an obligation to entertain and have the courage to tell their players to keep the ball in hand whenever they can. Japan may have played exciting rugby but they were not in the final, and that is what counts. ... this is a bit of a contradiction!! I am all for reams t...

Re: SIMON COHEN AND TOM SCOTT

The motive for my post is to point out that the responsibility for the sustained decline lies with the current controlling shareholder and management, and that this can only be reversed if there is root and branch change here. Blaming the various sub standard coaches they have appointed over the pa...

Re: Saints away - Saturday 30th November

Murphy is quoted on the BBC as saying: "The manner of the defeat is sickening as this is a very special one this game, which means a lot to myself and a lot of the players." Excuse me for asking, but why not all the players? ... I would suggest that "lot of the players" would be...

Re: Murphy coaches and relegation

Am I the only one who keeps checking news websites today in the hope that I’ll hear that the coaches have been sacked! And still nothing,.. ... the board will never sack the coaches, it will just confirm what we all know, that they (the Bod) are not fit for purpose!! Geordie is never going to fall ...

Re: Saints away - Saturday 30th November

As I said ages ago, we will never progress as long as the Young brothers, Ford father and son and the Tuillagi family cartel who have the ear of Ben Kay are with the club. They wanted Murphy as coach so that they could dictate tactics etc to him as he has never had the strength of will or the coach...
