Re: 3rd January 2021 v Bath

Very good display by the lads. 14-0 and a man down to come back and win 36-31.. I’ll take that. Shame we couldn’t turn the screw at the death and make it a 5-0 but I’m more than happy with that result that lifts us up to 7th. Steward was incredible, those kicks by Ford were immense, Wiese was his u...

Re: Johnny May

It seems to me that we have many experts on the salary cap on this forum which amazes me given how confusing it is. While there is a £7m cap, it is my understanding that 'allowances' are given for academy products, which must get extremely beneficial if they get to full internationals. I am not sure...

Vote for Manu - Try of the Month Sept.

The Daily Telegraph are running a try of the month for Sept with Manu's try against Falcons one of the contenders. He's lagging behind Cipriani so needs a big push, Here's the link and he is No4. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union/video-highlights/vote-for-september-highlight/?WT.mc_id=tmgspk_p...

I would suggest that Rutland is very much Tigers territory.

Invasion?

I know Tigers cast their coaching classes wide but they are not normally in the heartland of other premiership clubs. I have been shocked to seeWASPS running a weeks coaching class at Uppingham School which, I would consider to be in Tigers heartland. I hope we are not losing our grip on again on ac...

Re: At least the Academy is performing again.

I notice that at least 2 ex academy players helped but Tigers to the sword today! No point in having a good academy if we let them go - I assume they went under the old regime?

Re: Manu cited....

I think Manu should work out his hourly rate and then charge Jeff Marks - he's the C in all this - for the cost of having to go down to London tomorrow. Ludicrous! [Sorry - not C - should be CC - Citing Commissioner] I think the use of the single C in this instance is well justified strawclearer!

Re: Booing at half time

Didn't boo just left the terrace at halftime and never got out of the ABC bar! First time I have never completed watching a game in all my years as a season ticket holder!

Re: "Captain?" Tom Youngs report.

IMO, captaincy is not for him. He is no where near the player of 4 years ago that saw cement a Lions place. He should step down and focus on his form etc and bring back Slater as skip. Remember, there was a whisper that Slater could be a future England captain when he lead the midweek side in NZ bef...

Re: Departure of Cockerill

Alleluia! Should have happened 2 years ago! Sorry, I cannot be sentimental about Cockerill, which will no doubt get slammed on this forum! Cockerill inherited a club which has been renowned for not only playing quality rugby but for a great team spirit - this goes back to the amateur era when Tigers...

I have also emailed the club but as this was done this weekend no response yet. In fact I am not expecting one anyway.

The Welford Road Matchday Experience

Understandably the Tigers hold great stead by the matchday experience at Welford Road. With rugby and Tigers on almost every week, it is essential that the match day experience is great to ensure a good crowd and that the temptation of the comfy armchair is reduced. It seems that Tigers have focused...

Re: George Ford

Can someone tell me why we would want George Ford? I would question is commitment, after all he left us rather than fight for his place. Is that the attitude we want? To my mind we have a better fly-half in Freddie Burns who is clearly committed - after all he paid for his own kicking coach. IMHO Fr...

Yes, he should have gone 3 years ago. He clearly has no man management skills. To coin a phrase - he has lost the dressing room.

Re: Blaming the right person?

I fail to see why people are so keen to jump to the defence of our DoR. During his tenure Tigers have declined. When he took over Tigers were a top 2 side now I would say that, at best, they would be 4th ranked and that's being kind! Cockerill's success was at the beginning of his tenure - he benefi...
