Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
SB basically had his first season as a free shot, so I think the same should be afforded to DMK. Agree with other comments, we were massively affected being a WC year and have probably done okay overall. That being said, the two results against Gloucester did make me massively question the direction...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
Like others have said happy to almost write this season off with a new coach, WC year etc. Think that’s fair as SB basically had one season to bed in new systems / players and we were no better then in that first season than we are now. I think it should also be said that with three clubs going unde...

With Rogerson and Cracknell staying I do hope McKellar trusts them more next season and rotates better. There have been times with Liebenberg and Reffell that he’s definitely played them when they could’ve done with a rest. Cracknell showed against Leinster he’s got the ability and Rogerson played p...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
I agree - I’d be shocked to see 4 new signings yet to be announced. We were always rumoured to be bringing in 2 new centres. Given Porter and Scott leaving this is almost a certainty now. Other than that I’d hope we’d bring in another 8. Simmonds would be a great signing and maybe long term look to ...

I’m kind of glad Nic Dolly is leaving. He’s too good not to be playing regularly in the premiership. But at Tigers he would’ve been struggling for time on the pitch. Deserves to be in a 23 regularly.
Leaves us three senior centres so the rumours of bringing someone else in must be true.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
Sarries are pretty stacked in the centres now Yeah I don't see him going there now. I wonder if they had a choice between Spink and Marchant and went with Spink. Marchant makes sense if we are losing Porter. If Porter is staying it becomes harder to justify signing him. Perese, Porter and Marchant ...

Spink joins Saracens. Good signing for them given Lozowski is going to be playing more 10. Apparently he’s on England’s radar too.

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm
For me this kind of reminded me of Scotland England in the six nations. Things didn’t click but there were definitely positives. The pack did pretty good all things considered. Cronin probably had his best game yet and showed what he can do. Liebenberg back to his best. Cracknell playing in his best...

We won two European finals playing two fullbacks at 14&15. Think we need to stick to Steward and Shillcock together for the rest of the season and probably next. Steward chasing kicks could be a real weapon like Roebuck is for Sale. Hopefully next season Kelly finds his mojo with Perese and poss...

Personally don’t get this move Steward to centre idea. Agree with everything people have said about the shift on a 15 to a secondary playmaker. Steward isn’t sat with his head in the sand. SB will have said why Furbank came into the 15. Steward used to play 10, so no doubt he’ll work on that park of...

I actually think we’ve a chance against Saints away. But to get a result we need the likes of Martin, Chessum, Reffell firing on all cylinders. So glad we’ve not risked them.

Good team all things considered - especially the back 3.
Glad we haven’t taken any risks with our returning test players. What’s the point in risking injury when they’re not 100%.
Their team especially the bench is ridiculous mind.

If so, I think we’ll regret losing Scott. It’s as much his desire to move back north as anything Think Scott was always slightly underrated. When we had him and Moroni, always thought he was the better attacking player, used to run some lovely lines. But now he’s 34, can’t blame him or the club fro...

Re: JVP
Agree on Whiteley, think he’s actually a really good player for someone who isn’t first choice. He’s also very good at getting some tempo into the defensive line at times and making crucial tackles. Feel like if YBY is here next season then he needs to be playing at 100%. He was poor against Glouces...
