Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
Back in the day we signed many quality Irish, Italian and French players. G Murphy, J Murphy, N Morris, S Jennings, B Kayser, J Dupuy, L Ghiraldini. Now with their domestic leagues I can’t see any English club signing players like them again. Now we’re seeing South African players moving back home s...

Would love for Moroni to come back. He should’ve never left really. For me these players fall into two camps. Players who can do a job at test level, especially if they’re in form, someone like Hipkiss, Vesty etc. Or test level players. Porter for me fell into the former and Moroni the latter. Ewers...

I’m still not 100% that Rogerson will be here next season. We released the leavers list and then Atkinson left. I just don’t see where he fits in with Cracknell, Carnduff and Illione. I could see him being released if he got a contract offer from somewhere else. Signings I’m still hoping for. 8 - Mo...

Re: Dan Mckellar
I agree about next season. What is the target?
If we get 6th then arguably much better than this season. But is 6th spot really going to be acceptable or is the target more likely going to be top 4.
Top 4 would be a massive uphill battle given the quality of other teams this season.

Pretty well as I expected last night to go! Positives for me were: Steward back to, and possibly slightly surpassing, his best. Shillcock was really good, get the impression he, more than some, is a ‘confidence’ player? Heye’s had a decent game, Kata, as per usual bought out and out impact. Carnduf...

Would love to know what we do in training EVERY week.
Gone backwards in every aspect of the game this season. Scrum, lineout, you name it we’re worse now than we were six months ago.

Really could go either way. Kata off the bench could make a big difference!

Whitcombe not starting is just nonsensical now. As for playing Kinder on the wing, normally I would be all for it, possibly the easiest position to translate age group to senior rugby, weather good...but the opposition FH is probably the best tactical kicker in the sport. As for hooker it will be i...

Re: Cockers thoughts on the Prem etc
Interesting perspective. I think the league is definitely more competitive having sadly been reduced to 10 teams. But that isn’t surprising given that plenty of talent from LI, Wasps and Worcester bolstered other teams strength in depth. But he’s right about the traditional rivalries, especially us ...

Well he's starting against Georgia Fear I’ve kicked a hornets nest with my Whitcombe comment! I would like to see how he goes in a first choice front row, then we can make a more informed comment. Hope he goes well on Friday. It's a fair comment. Our LH props have all had decent (if unspectacular) ...

Re: Black Lions match
Gotta be starting Wilkinson at 10 for me. He’s a good player and we need to show some faith in him. Manz has been kept on too so let’s see what he can do. Probably worth playing Rogerson and Basset if they’re fit to get them back on the pitch and minutes under their belt.

Agree about Kelly. Think he looks a little lost at 13, but at 12 his handling comes into play more which is actually massively underrated. Everyone bangs on about Dingwall but I actually think Kelly is a better passer. Really liked him in the secondary playmaker role. Think we need to accept that wi...
