Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

‘“At the back of the players’ minds will also be another nagging thought: should they have seen some of this coming? Sure, it is not strictly their business how their club’s finances are handled. But did no-one think to wonder, as they looked around the dressing-room with its legions of top internat...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

Surely the salary cap officer needs to resign now too?

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

“According to other media reports, there are indications that Saracens are in a difficult position to provide the necessary assurances demanded of them about compliance with the cap this season. With the salary-cap limit of £7m apparently, whilst previous reporting said that in two of the last three...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

I'm a May fan but having big players available all year round would be great for club sustainability. I certainly wouldn't want to loose our England/home nations core, but loosing too many just causes us to be short in key areas for a lot of the season. Its always a balancing act but at the end of ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

So what are we looking at so far for 2020/21 season.

Henry to replace McPhillips
Alemanno to replace Spencer
Lam or Nadalo to replace May
Hughes to replace Thompstone

Re: Tigers vs Cardiff - 12th January 2020

Thought Hughes played alright, but struggle to see where he would fit in the squad with Aspland-Robinson signing an extension with the club. Especially with the rumours of maybe Lam joining too, surely there would be no room.

Twice now awful tackling by Olowefela
He’s been a mixed back. One big hit on Navidi was really good. Yet that was awful tackling right there, he needs to be going low to chop the man.

I’d get some subs on in the forwards and try and get some momentum going.

Re: Tigers vs Cardiff - 12th January 2020

I think White has been pretty good so far, he’s only 21
so should have plenty of development potential. Not though much of Batley or Hughes so far. Positioning hasn’t been great but hasn’t had much of a chance ball in hand.

Re: Tigers vs Cardiff - 12th January 2020

Bit lacklustre at the minute, no real tempo or urgency from Tigers. Need to up the intensity for the second half.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

I do like Spencer, but he’s very rarely fit and it must be difficult trying to find some good form when you can never string more than a few games together. Given also that Alemanno would be an upgrade, not surprised to see him leave at the end of the season. Wouldn’t want Nadalo, doesn’t fit the ri...

Re: England in the 6N

With there only being 7 backrow spots available, wonder how Jones will fit in the young talent coming up. Ted Hill, Jack Willis, Ben Earl, Ben Curry, Alex Dombrandt. Wonder who will make the cut and who won’t.

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20

Fairly certain the next lock off the cab rank for England is Ewels, very much in the same mould as Kruis, great at the set piece. Pity he’s currently injured but could be back for the six nations. Isiekwe has also looked good this season for Sarries. Feel that Stooke and Hill are no more than good p...

I’d probably like us to put out the strongest team we can, minus the England internationals. Should give us some momentum going into the premiership games. Re: Johnny May

Obviously after yesterday’s performances we’d want to keep Youngs and May. But only if the price is right sadly. I hope with May being good mates with Ford and other players at the club may help his decision. But if we only offer him 200k and Saracens say 325k, you could hardly blame for him for lea...
