Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00

Dont want to get involved in politics , dont know a Tigers woman player's name , but do we spend money on them at the expense of quality men, under the guise of'diversity??' I’d have thought we only have 1 pot of money that everything has to come from. The idea of running a women’s team is a great ...

Re: Doom and Gloom

Overall this season the whole "Tigers" brand etc had looked a bit off, stick it all together & it creates a scenario of it all being a bit. The team(s) results & performances haven't been great. We have had a issue with a coach in both the Men's & Womens team. Another salary c...

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00

These last few games seem born out of our poor and cheaper journey men recruitment over that last 2/3 seasons, and an inability to consistently bring talent through our academy. Now I appreciate we’re not millionaire own like bath so can’t go out and buy a new 1st team squad like they have, but sin...

Looks about as strong a team was we can put out, great to have Reffell back after going off last week though he’d miss this week he’s probably going the be the most important player on the pitch to slow their ball down. Also great having Martin in the row hopefully again we can dominate up front and...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

So, the $64,000 question: how to give the youngsters (more) meaningful games? It's old hat but how about reforming the A league? North and South divisions to minimising travel etc costs. A teams to be a mixture of young talent, old timers returning to match fitness after injury, back up bench playe...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Fair points. I am just frustrated when I see ex-Tigers do well elsewhere: I would prefer them to do well whilst at Welford Rd. TBH I think I would have preferred JVP and White competing as our top two 9s at the moment…although we’d have been in trouble if both were away for internationals! I suppos...

Unfortunately--------------Steward wont be considered at Full Back for England unless he radically improves his speed and directional running. Plus his defence isnt that great Neither are Hodge or Carpenter, the nos 2 and 3, but, they can catch and are miles quicker Furbank has improved in leaps an...

Seems a pretty odd decision to let Edward’s go whilst giving Whitley a new contract, he’s done a job but realistically he’ll never be more that a 3rd choice. Which Edward’s surely could have done next season before taking over from youngs when he retires and at 21 sure could only get better with som...

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00

I like us to do a mixed time of youth and experience, I know it’s unlikely we’ll make the top 4, I still don’t want to just send out a team of kids. I also like to see Wilkinson get a start with the starting pack to see what he can do, and if it goes wrong bring pollard on. With that in mind I go, W...

Re: Tigers v Bristol (H) - Premiership - Saturday 27th April 2024 - KO: 15-00

Time to try players in roles where they might be needed next season for my money. I'm thinking: - Ilione at 7. We direly need a jackal threat when Tommy isn't playing. - Cracknell at 6. It was his best position at LI where he was well suited to back rows with multiple all-rounders rather than stand...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I have often posted that Tigers lack genuine pace and a ball carrying threat. I thought we solved that issue signing OHC and Watson not to mention Wiese. Strikes me that OHC as has been widely muted is a different player from when he was at Irish, Watson is still long term injured and Wiese is off....

Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05

No matter how you spin it the words ""I'm not worried about the play-offs" as well as other reported quotations came from Mckellar. His complete sentence ""I'm not really worried about the play-offs, I just want to worry about our performance." does not magically make ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

I always think on the big players you want them settled down. So on Pollard (presuming his contract finishes 2025) as soon as the season finishes I'd have two offers for him. 1) A contract extension for a further two seasons (to end in 2027) on good terms. 2) A transfer to a SA franchise. Basically...
