Re: Leicester v Bordeaux (H) - 22nd January 2022 - 15:15

Yes a very good team, but disappointed there is still no sign of Hanro/MVS. Hopefully they are not too far away. Unusually it looks like the Old King has been given a week off as well, hope he's not injured! I hope MVS is OK. In one of the matches (just pre Christmas I think) he took the ball into ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

Wonder about Martin being injured. With this and Chessum going to England over him I think he may have got quite a bad knock. He was in the training video prepping for the Wasps game, Borthwick said we were in a better position selection wise then we didn't pick him and just had him replaced with C...

A stat put up during the game yesterday showed us having the 3rd highest penalty count per game in the Premiership at 12.9. I didn't take on who was higher in the time the stat was up, but 2nd and 1st were 13 and 14 point

Saints and Newcastle I think it was.
Thanks

Re: CONNACHT (A) - Saturday 15th January 2022 - 3-15pm

I wonder if we will see different tactics for this match. Moving the ball more and keeping hold of it rathe than kicking to them and giving players like Aki a chance to run back at us. FB doesn't have the same kicking game as GF either and is more inclined to run it. I may be wrong but I have a feel...

Re: Wasps (A) - Sunday 9th January 2022 - 3pm

OK folks I have to own up. We lost because , for the first time since the "bad old days", we invited friends(and fellow ST holders) to watch the game at our house followed by dinner. We never win when our friends come round to watch a game...so I have told them they won't be invited again. My apolog...

Re: New Salary Cap Breach?

For those who do not like Alex Sanderson he is in a piece on the BBC website supporting SB and what Tigers have done recently, and saying the investigation is not the right thing to do. To be honest I have always liked Sanderson and this just confirms my view https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/...

Re: Genge leaving

I think is is unfortunate that Genge is leaving, but no more than that. He is a very good player but the team is more than him and I would rather he leave, than stay when he or his family are unsettled; it would inevitably reflect in his performance on the pitch in my view. I am not convinced his pe...

The “pork pie squad” is here to stay!! (if you were watching on the box!) If we are going to call them the pork pie squad then I move that JvP is the different gravy that comes with them... Pork pie with gravy! 😱😱 I come from a family of pork pie (and sausage) producers in St Helens ....yes I know ...

Very frustrating!
We can’t even hope for Saracens to lose as that would mean we would be hoping for Sale to win!
😬
I'm hoping for 3-3 draw for that one !

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

Just had a notification that George is off. Informed Tigers yesterday apparently. Alia iactus est. Just hope his head stays with us until the season ends. It certainly is, and was since his Dad left. I honestly don't feel concerned about it. We have Freddie as a solid, known quantity (I was a littl...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

I am not surprised by this rumour/decision at all. I thought GF would leave when I heard his father was leaving. This view was strengthend when he was not made Captain or Vice-Captian; he was an obvious option but I think SB has known this was coming for a while and chose accordingly.....unless GF s...

Re: Premiership Rugby Cup

I might have to amend my 'which club would you support' list to drop Glos down into the Bristol, Sarries group.. Having started that threat I tend to agree. Gloucester were at the top of my "ambivalent" middle group but I turned over the channel last night when I realised Gloucester's selection pol...

Re: Premiership Rugby Cup

I stopped watching 5 mins ago. It is so one-sided it has no entertainment value for a neutral. It is almost like watching an unopposed session on the training ground.....just a series of runs through to the try line. Even if I was a Gloucester supporters would be feeling decidedly uncomfortable once...
