Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05

I’ll stand by my prediction before the Leinster game which was that we’d stay in the game at Dublin until the extra depth off the bench took the game away in the latter stages but we’d beat Saints. That is all on the basis that we have as close to full strength a XV as possible so along the lines of...

Next season he will be judged more sharply and I don't think that is unfair. I'm more intrigued to see who the new attack coach is going to be. Almost zero rumours at this stage. Almost is not quite Zero, I'm guessing though it's too thin to share publicly what you have heard then 😉 Really, the onl...

Re: Black Lions fixture

For me Cockers is a club legend and deserves a rousing round of applause when he appears for btoh what he did as a player and a coach. That said, as can happen when coaches/managers/DORs stay for prolonged periods, he oversaw diminishing returns. Indeed, IMO he oversaw the start of the rot that SB f...

Has our academy been the worse in terms of wing production? Looking at saints Slightholme, Freeman, Hendy all rapid, We just seem to struggle getting Wingers from academy to first team. Even Simmons wasn't a winger in age grade. Hopefully Satala and Kinder both live up to promise. I may be wrong bu...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm

Think the lack of power in the 2nd row and any real threat at the breakdown without Reffell will mean Leinster will secure plenty of quick ball and run up a decent score. Our bench front row is pretty average too so after 50mins I think we’ll be struggling at the set piece. Think Dan might be playin...

Re: Over the cap (again)

It sounds like its come about as part of a further audit from which all parties accept it is an accounting oversight/complication/point of debate and not an effort to break the rules. As such, no real issue other than having to pay the agreed sum as a result & being told to account in the way PR...

Re: Tigers v Newcastle (A) - Premiership - Friday 29th March 2024 - KO: 19-45

I’ve said that our first choice XV should be a match for most if not all so I’m hoping that the players have been a couple of percent off since the 6 Nations with thoughts of Leinster and Saints coming up. The following hasn’t played so far so let’s see what we can do for the rest of the season. Cro...

Agreed he is possibly the worst 9 I have ever seen in a Tigers shirt and that speaks volumes on our recruitment and retention. Well he was better than the other 9 we had post WC whose name escapes me already Joe Powell is his name but at least he could pass and box kick He literally couldn’t though...

When it comes to 9's we should bare in mind YBY could retire at anytime, for me Whiteley isn't good enough to be a 3rd choice let alone a 2nd choice. Agreed he is possibly the worst 9 I have ever seen in a Tigers shirt and that speaks volumes on our recruitment and retention. Well he was better tha...

Koroiyadi, Cusick and Edwards are off I’m hearing, along with Dolly. Edwards & potentially Cusick will come back to bite us on the backside. Dolly is an odd one - should be 2nd choice but I guess the club see Clare as a cheaper option and that FTT will come through to challenge Montoya in the n...

He’ll probably say they should have had a penalty try from some of those scrums :smt003

Well you can’t fault the effort to find a way to win

But it was absolute crud with one moment of magic from JVP and a really good team try in the 2nd half

No idea where we go from there other than to an absolute hiding in Dublin and then be broken and battered for Saints.

Yeah, two scrums ago we should have had a free kick for an early shove....
