Re: Tigers vs Wasps - 15th Feb

Tom Hardwick with possibly the worst first half performance by a professional rugby player. Should of dragged him after his second unchallenged knock on. Whilst Reid is not an out and out 10, he has to start whilst the 6N is on. Agree with comments on Spencer. Had his best game that I can remember, ...

Like for like in terms of position, with limited game time for either you would think. Maybe a large discrepancy in wage? Moving Cortes to release some funds? Thinking too much into it?

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

Ben Lam would be a very good signing; he’s lightning quick, pretty physical and would be around for the entire campaign. Also big pals with Taufua. Here’s hoping.

Whilst I’d like May to stay, if we could bring Lam in on a long-ish contract I’d be happy enough with that.

Re: Genge - Daily Mail

People will probably disagree but as much as I love Ellis, I’m not sure i’d want him to have the armband.

Not sure he could retain the ‘edge’ about him with the responsibility of having to manage ‘sir’. Happy to have him being him for the next 5+ years!

Genge - Daily Mail

Every single Tigers fan should read the latest Genge interview with Chris Foy in The Daily Mail...

He’s a character alright.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

Hughes looks like Thompstone v2; similar in build and in playing style. Pretty physical without being electric quick. Wonder where he’ll fit in in the pecking order. Just hope he’s better than the last winger from Scotland who barely got any minutes... Sarto

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

Be interesting to see what happens with the next round of negotiations. Think that Holmes, Thompstone, Kalamafoni, Eastmond and Thompson are all coming to the end of their deals (to my knowledge).

Would expect TPN and Cortes to follow Harrison out the door, along with May?

Will Kelleher of the Daily Mail reporting Genge to sign new 2 year extension, with relegation release clause. To be announced immenently. Thumbs up all round. Kelleher usually pretty reliable

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

Would be interested to know which bracket this puts Genge in interms of earners at the club?

If Briz are supposedly offering KS c500k, would Genge be demanding a similar fee?

Re: Murphy coaches and relegation

According to Twitter Mike Ford is to take up the Head Coach role with Fiji.

Not sure who this blokes agent is!! At least we won’t have to see him around Oval Park in any senior capacity.

Out of interest, any of the current players a McGinity signing - or did he arrive after Lavanini etc?

Be interested to see where his focus is, i.e the unknown Pacific Islander type profile or domestic youth

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

Ford has carried us for the last eighteen months, agree that he’d be priority out of those mentioned. Part of me however is open to a complete clearing of the decks. The major issue over the last few years has been the quality left behind in the wake of Eng duty. Imagine the cap available if GF, EG,...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

With Sam Harrison soon departing we could do a lot worse than offer Alby Mathewson a short term deal now his Munster contract has run its course. Would provide cover for BY and help the youth along...
