David Odiase is a done deal apparently.
Cracking news if so. Odiase looks like a beast of a flanker, a fantastic athlete. He'll also bridge the gap between Ilione and the 4 U18 back rows rumoured to be getting dev squad deals next season.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park

Kyle Cooper could be a shrewd signing I think. At 33, having just failed to convert to prop successfully he wouldn't cost a lot but he was a really good hooker before the switch. As a hooker he'd fit Borthwick's style of play. Completely thinking out loud on my part but I've mentioned before that I'...

Hame Faiva is a decent hooker for someone to sign.
Worcester I think
Cheers kpj. He'll fit into that pack well. Worcester were very strong at hooker when they had Taufete'e and Singleton back by Bregvadze and Annett. It's now a position they could strengthen.

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2022

Such a shame what injuries have done to Benvenuti's career recently. Such a good player. Hame Faiva is a decent hooker for someone to sign. Kyle Cooper also a good hooker on the market. Given Dolly's very nasty looking injury today, Montoya certainly missing games with Argentina and Vanes progressin...

Kyle Cooper leaving Falcons apparently. The move to prop has been farcical at times given how much he's understandably struggled in the scrum. He was a very good hooker prior to the switch though, as a hooker there's a good signing there for the right club.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Steve Borthwick and the Chamber of Oval Park

Saumaki was at the Dragons game at the weekend. He might've just been visiting a friend of course and there's nothing in it. Or maybe they've offered him the security of a longer deal and he wants game time. Saumaki didn't come into pro rugby until late so it's easy to forget he's already 30-years-o...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

Sadly I cant see how we can afford to keep Moroni with all those new 3/4 signings. :smt017 van Wyk/Nadolo ---> Watson Taute ---> Cokanasiga Brink ---> Cracknell Genge ---> Cronin Given when Taute signed his deal should be more than Cokanasiga will be on. Same for Brink out and Cracknell in. Cronin ...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2020-21

Glad to hear he's got a club already.

There's a few former Tigers at Jersey now. Guy Thompson, Jack Roberts and Ryan Olowofela - don't think Ryan debuted but he was academy of course.

Harry Simmons on loan too at the minute.

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2020-21

Grahamslaw could still make a good Prem LH in my opinion. Given when he converted and being tall for a LH it will take time. A good signing there for a Championship club. Moyano would be a strong upgrade on Hegarty as Steward's back up or as a wing option ahead of Ashton. Ashton has been good but wa...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

On van wyk honestly I think you would find it hard to get a 3rd LH choice who is better Bath: Schoeman Bristol: Woolmore Exeter: Kenny Gloucester: Seville Harlequins: García Botta Irish: Dell (Who got turned inside out v Hurd in the Prem Cup home game) Falcons: Cade Saints: Hobbs-Awoyemi Sale: Mcin...

I thought Socino was briefly rumoured before hand?

Any positions you'd expect a not rumoured signing in RB?

I wouldn't be surprised if we have made a couple signings no one knows about
Saumaki was one of those. A good one at that.

I'd expect a couple as you say. LH and back row seem the potential spots for them looking at the squad for next season.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

Taking crude but fairly reliable estimation that we'll roughly need two 23s for the season I'd say recruitment is looking good. Pollard, Watson, Cronin, Cokanasiga, Gopperth and Cracknell are all players I rate and who I think fit necessary spots in the squad. Seeing rounds pegs in round holes feels...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2020-21

Just noticed Aaron Hinkley is on trial at Saints, hasn’t worked out for him at Exeter, but he’s some player if he can rediscover his Gloucester and England U20 form. Hinckley looked just as talented as the Curry's at age grade. Such a shame how injury has stalled his career. I really hope he can st...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone

9.Wigglesworth (39)
10.Burns (32)
11.Nadolo (34)
12.Gopperth (39)
13.Scott (32)
14.Saumaki (30)
15.Ashton (35)

Ages at the start of next season that is.

Make it happen.

That young buck Saumaki dragging the average age down though. Just another reason I hope Kini renews now.
