Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

Would you leave Tigers the way it’s currently going ? Before you say it, Ford is different. Local lads, playing with mates, why would you go ! Money talks when it's a short career at the end of the day. See Gengey's candid comments about that subject last season for instance. Losing one of Scott or...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

I do share others worries that when a lot of the squad come up for renewal they will be warranting big increases. There's a bit of a perfect storm of good value players performing very well currently. Not all will come out of contract this year but the below list will all be excellent value current...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Lord of the Mauls

isn't Genge one of our current 2 marquee players? So presumably we can beat what ever offer he gets from another prem club We can't know for sure who the marquees are but I'd say safe to assume that either Genge or Montoya are the second. Probably Gengey. With Ford leaving we will drop down to 1 ma...

Re: Premiership Rugby Cup

How many of those quality players Tigers have had on the bench or getting limited game time has a lot to do with such good availability though it's important to note. Our first XV availability since the RC players returned has been fantastic, hence we've had consistent 23s. With a few more knocks an...

Re: Premiership Rugby Cup

That Gloucester team had a lot of rotation to be fair. Bath are just in a horrible place with injuries and unavailability. It was a good Gloucester backline but completely second string. Similar with Tigers having a strong back line today by PRC standards but that's due to good depth rather than pic...

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021

Robshaw was still captain that recently? That feels like an age ago, the rest of my point remains though, Hartley lost the captaincy due to injury due to concussion issues rather than being dropped Robshaw was Lancaster's captain so Jones inherited him as skipper when he took over in 2016. He immed...

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021

its simple for me, Farrell if he plays, must play 10 he isn't good enough at 12 to start for most prem sides, he spent most of the game at 10 anyway so we had a world class centre stood on the wing and a 10 in the centres, the team was far more balanced with Furlough playing 10 last week but with a...

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021

Also, if IRB WPOTY recognition is significant it's worth noting that Farrell has been nominated 3 times.

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021

You have to take into account the team around them too surely. And I disagree when it comes to Sexton,he’s definitely got a better attacking game than Farrell and has had lots of success as well as winning world player of the year. So there’s one for a start. Like I said it sounds a waste of time c...

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021

Scott - If you're claiming to have a strong enough memory of English rugby over the last few years to confidently state Farrell hasn't had one good performance in in his career then surely your memory should also stretch far enough to remember who England played in the RWC quarter-final?

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021

First two off the top of my head: England's brilliant win at Lansdowne Road when Farrell orchestrated from 10, threw a sublime cut out pass that got Earls to bite out the line but still beat him putting the winger away. Rugby World Cup quarter-final when he again pulled the strings from 10 as Engla...

Re: AUTUMN INTERNATIONALS 2021

The boot is an enormously important skill in rugby and always has been. No side has ever won a RWC without an exceptional kicking game. Teams have won RWCs without exceptional running games.
