Re: European Challenge Cup - Cardiff vs Tigers

I'd rest Manu due to his groin issues and the Cardiff plastic pitch. Taute is a risk as he's had knee issues but he needs game time much more than Manu. 1.Gigena 2.Youngs 3.Leatigaga 4.Lavanini 5.Spencer 6.Kalamafoni 7.Reffell 8.Boladau 9.Ford 10.Hardwick 11.Holmes 12.Reid 13.Taute 14.Thompstone 15...

Re: European Challenge Cup - Cardiff vs Tigers

They might not have Navidi but Ellis Jenkins is fit I believe, plus old warhead Nick Williams, Halahalo, fullback Morgan, dangerous outfit at full strength and I think Cardiff are targeting this competition for automatic Heineken Cup promotion. Olly Robinson missing from the back row on top of Navi...

Jimmy Stevens

Great to see him on the bench for Bedford for their game against Nottingham on Sunday.

There were a lot of rumours he would have to retire due to concussions so brilliant that he's back playing.

Re: Tigers v Pau Saturday Nov 16th

Looked like in training it was 9. Youngs 10. Ford 12. Taute 13. Manu 14. SAR Getting Taute integrated at 12 and 13 will be huge for the season. The midfield has missed his quality enormously with Ford and Manu away. I hope we see Reid playing 12 over the next 2 weeks as well. Lenny has usually play...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20

Rhodes is an excellent player but has had a few injuries recently and is about to turn 32. I can't see him getting capped now. Isiekwe will surely want to be starting in the second row to push international ambitions. He is probably Sarries first choice blindside at full strength, whether he wants t...

Re: Borthwick

A number of the new signings spoke highly of GM and during talks about joining, his vision for the club going forward was something to buy into. Seems he has the vision, but lacks the coaching ability to execute it. Borthwick has a reputation for attention to game detail and technical skills. Seems...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20

Cobus Wiese has been linked with Sarries on a 5-year contract from 2020/21. Rumoured to be joining after playing the 2020 Super Rugby season with the Stormers. Rhodes and Isiekwe are both out of contract at the end of the season so presumably he's a replacement for one of them. Wiese is a highly rat...

Re: Transfers and Rumours Non-Tigers 2019-20

His whole salary? Yes I would have thought his salary during his time at Blues would not count as presumably the NZRU/Blues would pay it. Whatever Blues pay to Marchant/Quins whilst he is on loan will be exempt from the cap, not his whole salary. The same as loans to the Championship in other words.

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

Another question, Could a club director buy 4 very very expensive cars and sell them for £1 each to each of the 4 players, who are then at liberty to sell them? Similar he might buy houses and then sell them? Does anyone have an answer regarding the legality of the deferred payment until after reti...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

ABC Club: I don’t think that there is a European cap, which is why the CC organisers have taken no action. There is no cap in the European competition but the Salary Cap as signed up for unanimously by all PRL shareholder clubs encompasses both Champions cup and Challenge cup European games as well...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation / Grounds for Appeal

European games fall under the cap as well. The cap isn't just there to create a level playing field in the Prem but also to try to temper rapid wage inflation and prevent sides from bankrupting themselves by piling funds into players (short term investment) rather than infrastructure (long term inve...

Presumably Genge is being offered Afoa's cap if he's retiring. I'd think Bristol would need a tighthead more in that scenario.

Murphy said in his post match interview that he hoped to have 4 of the England contingent involved in this weekends game.
I missed that. Genge is on holiday and May was carrying an injury so seems likely to be Cole, Lenny, Ford and Manu.
