Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

As an aside, if May signs on reduced terms and Thompstone goes, does that cover Nadolo’s wage Equally, would the possible reduced terms of the Youngs brothers cover for Genge and Ford increases. Impossible to know for sure but Toms reduced contract would likely cover the Genge increase. I've heard ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

I'm upset with Costelow leaving but the WRU seem to have offered him assurances he wouldn't get at Tigers. He looked ready for senior rugby this season and I wouldn't be surprised if he's starting for Scarlets by mid-season next year. At the same time the regions often see players stall with them du...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

With the proposed law change a decent kicking 12 ala Reid or Hardwick will become invaluable Absolutely. If Borthwick can sort out the lineout and quicker ball at the breakdown (a hallmark of forwards he's coached) then the backs should be able to fall into shape much better. With the scrum already...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

Issue at 12 is Manu, Taute, Reid, Eastmond and now Nadolo (played 12 for Fiji a fair bit) all being in contract. I hope we see Hardwick get game time at 12 outside Ford next season. He certainly has the strength in defence to play there. I hope to see Worth get more chances in the centre as well. He...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

Rumoured leavers - Viljeon, McPhillips, Thomas - Didnt these three all join last season so would have thought they would be on more than a year contract? McPhillips and Thomas were 1 year contracts I believe. Tigers needed depth and they needed a club. Thomas is rumoured back to the regions and McP...

Re: A future back-row

Thom Smith needs extra bulk to be an out and out number 8 at senior level but if picked alongside Liebenberg and Taufua he's big enough for mens rugby. All about how we work these young players into the senior side. 6.Lewis 7.Taufua 8.Liebenberg will almost certainly see more out of Sam Lewis than 6...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

Does anyone have a list of ins and outs for next season? OPs from these threads by RagingBull are excellent for this. Confirmed signings - Mamukashvili, Nadolo, Henry Confirmed re-signings - Youngs x 2, Ford, Genge, Hardwick, Worth, Aspland-Robinson, Smith, Lavin, Gough Confirmed leavers - Kalamafo...

Re: A future back-row

Gough, Lavin and Smith are all being promoted to the senior squad. Has anybody watched these three young players enough to say whether they think they're ready to challenge for the first XV, or do we expect them to be on the fringes? Seconded. I haven’t seen much of them, what kind of players are t...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

I wouldn't be surprised if Jersey tried to get Guy back. They are losing the impressive Namibian Janco Venter to Sarries by the sounds of things so an experience back rower would fit their squad very well. For those interested former Tiger Charlie Beckett is still at Jersey as well. Charlie has been...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

Out - Polota-Nau, Cortes, Spencer, Thompson, Kalamafoni (and OTYs significantly reduced salary) In - Mamukashvili, Brink I'd still be hoping for really strong starters being signed at lock and back row looking at those outgoings (some still rumours) salary cap wise. Lock is the more specific signing...

Re: Saracens - The Road to Ruin

Sale have a small squad, especially in the backs, which will help considerably. Bristol often get questioned but again their squad is a case of a handful of expensive players with a lot of value. Radrada, Piutau, Luatua, Hughes and Sinckler will all be on big money next season. After that the next h...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 3

Do we think the current coronavirus situation makes it more or less likely for May to re-sign for us? Club’s finances are going to be stretched next season so might it make sense to take the offer on the table and stay put? Impossible to say really. Tigers rely a lot on gate receipts so arguably co...

Re: Best Tigers Team (with a catch)

That’s a bit crafty ABC may as well pick Johnson and Back and say one played for England one played for the British and Irish lions Aye true just trying to get the best side by any means. I was recently an accountant with a Prem competitor but won't say which... Mele for Spain seems just as cheeky ...
