Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

If a player doesn't play for an entire season their salary is exempt from the cap. The regs are a painful thing to read through but that much is clear. I suspect RB is more implying that contract extensions and wage increases may have taken up much of Denton's cap already. From what I've heard he wa...

Craner

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/49673155 Jordan Crane to retire at the end of the season. He split the opinions of many but with 4 Premiership medals and over 200 Tigers caps he was a mainstay for the second half of Tigers success in the Pro era. Plus that kick to win the game against Cardif...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Packs looking very strong, even with the RWC players missing Bateman TPN Heyes Spencer Green Reffell Thompson Liebenberg Any takers? Given the injuries to Genge and the poor form of Kitchener (a key figure albeit not the only one out of sorts last year), I'd argue that pack is stronger than pretty m...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

The squad as a whole is actually well set to cover many of the RWC absentees. Bateman and Gigena covering Genge, Heyes and Cortes covering Cole, talented young half-backs to cover for Youngs and Ford, Taute as a midfield carrier in Manu's absence. 1.Bateman 2.Kerr 3.Heyes 4.Spencer 5.Green 6.Reffell...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Such a shame for Denton. He was in really strong form prior to the injury. Given how his form slumped at Bath it's an even bigger shame for the concussion to strike just as he was rediscovering his best. If a player doesn't play a single game in a salary cap season then they can be exempt from the c...

Re: Leicester Tigers Academy thread - 2019/20

Is Lynx Noumey making the shift to prop starting this season? He always seemed one to watch at flanker.

I've big hopes for Illione and Vanes. Both seem like natural leaders and fantastic players.

Re: Wade makes an impact on 1st game

He's such a fun sportsman to watch. It's an often underrated quality in a player!

Good on him for taking such a big risk by trying to make the jump to gridiron. I hope he makes a success of it but if he returned to rugby I'd love to see him in a Tigers shirt.

Re: When the world cup is done and dusted

Without injuries I'm hoping something like below develops into the full strength side. 1.Genge 2.Kerr 3.Cole 4.Lavanini 5.Spencer 6.Taufua 7.Thompson 8.Liebenberg 9.Youngs 10.Ford 11.May 12.Reid 13.Tuilagi 14.Holmes 15.Veainu 16.Polota-Nau 17.Bateman 18.Heyes 19.Green 20.Reffell 21.Simmons 22.Hardw...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Sam Grahamslaw confirmed to be joining a Scottish club as a stage three SRU academy player. Glasgow have announced their academy players for next season so seems likely to be linking up with Cockers at Edinburgh.

It's a shame he's left Tigers but I hope he fulfills his talent and plays for Scotland.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Compared to Stains and the Sharks, our scrum halves are miles behind.... We need a No 2 immediately. White/ Simmonds Coventry standard.. No idea what Simmons has done to give you that view. I reckon he could be something very special. If White is to be a scrum-half who offers limited sniping threat...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19

Glasgow's back row options are a bit muddled currently. Gibbins, Wilson and Fagerson are a good starting back row. Rob Harley, Adam Ashe and Chris Fusaro have all been set-back significantly by injury though. Then you've got three recent SRU academy grads and Vakaloloma who is also a project albeit ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

Problem is it’s World Cup Year so we won’t see a lot of players until November and then they could be in need of a rest. I’m hoping that Murphy almost forgets about the lads in all the World Cup squads and tells those left that this is a chance to become true Tigers. England - Genge, Cole, Youngs, ...

Harry Thacker one of 7 players to sign extensions with Bristol. 3 years in Harry's case.

I still hope to see him back at Tigers one day.
