Re: Saracens - Harlequins TMO

I have said for a long time now (and several times on this forum) that there should be NO commentary in the TMO's van at all. If you argue that it should be there, why not feed it to the ref and the touch judges as well? Of course, no one would make that argument so why should one official be treat...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

If you start from scratch again you need to pick your priorities. England picked defence and attacking ruck speed early doors, which makes sense as the ruck coach was only available for a short period. The attacking game plan seen in the last two games was present Vs Scotland the difference was exe...

Re: Saracens - Harlequins TMO

I suspect a lot of attitudes on here would change if Austin or anyone else spotted an infringement that the TMO missed and it was brought back and it cost us a GP final trophy when in the same game he missed one similar that wasn't pointed out and maybe could've won us the game. We can NEVER have an...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)

Maybe but we was just as awful in the first 3 games. It really felt like the rumours of players and coaches telling him to practice attack moves before the Ireland game are true. Yes,some kind of switch was definitely flicked. We were night and day in the last 2 games If you start from scratch agai...

Just a thought and I’m not looking for an argument here but has Englands attack moved on maybe because Farrell isn’t there? Maybe but we was just as awful in the first 3 games. Re: Saracens - Harlequins TMO

Sadly it’s a damned if you do ,damned if you don’t situation. I’m not sure what the auditing system is like in officialdom, maybe thats something that needs to be looked into. Like in football if you make X amount of mistakes or miss things you are stood down to the Championship for a while BUT we ca...

Re: Saracens - Harlequins TMO

I think I knew that the TMOs could hear the commentary. To me it is awful that he is refusing to review something because Austin Healey picked-up on it. It brings Stuart Terheege's integrity in to question, and by association the refereeing of the sport. Imo he did the right thing. If things are sa...

Re: Saracens - Harlequins TMO

The TMO is in the truck with the Director but does not have direct commentary feed into his headphones. The commentary is on in the background in the van so is picked up indirectly. All commentary feeds are cut when there is a review taking place so that it does not influence the decision. So he ca...

Re: Tigers v Newcastle (A) - Premiership - Friday 29th March 2024 - KO: 19:45

That should be enough to see off Falcons. Pace outside, experience in each area, carrying threats, breakdown threats. The team we had out on Friday night should have been enough to see off Gloucester but it didn't. :smt003 It’s the second easiest fixture of the season and very worrying to lose like...

Re: Saracens - Harlequins TMO

I actually feel sorry for the TMO. He goes ahead and reviews it and everyone comes out of the woodwork along the lines of “but what about when X was in the studio and pointed out Y but Z never looked at it”. This is of its own doing I’m afraid and should NEVER have been allowed to happen. Hopefully ...
