Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD
There are loads of factors but I think that Youngs is a big part of the problem himself, my issue is that he supposed to be an experienced 85 cap England international and is a supposed senior player but doesn’t act like it all anymore, you don’t need quick ball to be a leader. To be clear this is ...

Can't compete under the current cap.
TTRITH it would be awful. I see the logic but to attract the best players with the money we have we'd need to be playing in the biggest games.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2018/19 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 5
One could argue that the main reason for delaying the release of new signings is purely to avoid fan disappointment, if we are told there are no major signings bar Tuafua, then people would be calling for the heads of everyone before the end of the season. The early release of Tuafua is WITHOUT DOUB...

Re: Madness
Why would GM have to go? Surely theres not reason behind that opinion. Glynn may have routed out the bullies, but he still sits at the helm of some really under whelming and seeingly pointless purchases. Why Get a Joe Ford when surely there is a championship 10 out there with great potential. Sarrie...

Re: Madness
Our transfer dealings are still hit and miss *cough* Joe Ford *cough-cough*. The ney sayers don't have a choice but to believe, can't continue the stream of sackings. And you're right it won't happen over night. I think more experience is needed in the coaching set up. Apparently there was talk of M...

Re: Madness
I do agree that things had stagnated somewhat under Cockerill, but do we remeber the quality of the team? Manu stuck in long term injury, with the likes of Seremia Bia as our starting inside centre, and Loamanu starting. I seem to remember there being little help from the board in opening up the wal...

Look at Edinburgh, we sacked Cockerill for coming in 4th? IN 4TH?! Our succesion plan was to eventually sack interim head coach Mauger, and hire Matt O'connor. Someone with Tigers DNA, but who clearly had no place running a team, turning up two weeks late to preseason. Surely sacking seasoned Europe...

MOC confirmed we are looking for replacement, and that we do have:
Injury dispensation for Genge.
Space in the cap for more signings.
Expect more to come.

Re: Up next....Premiership v Gloucester!
What do we think about:
9, Harrison
10, Toomua
11,Brady
12, Gareth Owen
13, Manu
14, Malouf
15, Tait or if fit Vieanu
??
Joe Ford doesn’t make the grade imo

Re: Captain?
BOC doesnt even get a shout for the starting team anymore but he'd be great.
Dan Cole gave the game away vs munster at home and is not a captain.
Ed slater would have been good had he stayed.
Ford probably the best shout although he disapears for international.

Re: Brendon O'connor
I think Will Evans has been criminally underused too. You read a lot of nonsense about him being underpowered but no matter who he plays against he always averages about 15 tackles,2 turnovers and averages 5m on the carry, its our pathetic front 5 carrying stats that are making us play an unbalanced...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2017/18 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2!!
Has it been mentioned that GUY THOMPSON is pretty much confirmed to us next season? Andy Goode said so on the Rugby Pod and he's well in with Wasps at the mo being part of their hospitality team. Not sure what happened to him, but can't get much game time, albeit in a very talented backrow. 30 thou...

Re: Brendon O'connor
Don't really agree with the idea that his style of play is somehow out of favour. He's a player that's consistently underrated by Tigers fans, I think because his intelligent style of play isn't as flash as some more well known back row players. His (and others) bad luck with injuries has meant tha...

Re: Brendon O'connor
The breakdown rules and general direction Rugby is taking are pushing players like O'Connor out. Agreed, I am aware he was injured early in the season but hes played for the first team recent benching whilst Will Evans starts. As you say Tiger93 with the meta of the game changing it would sugest hi...
