First half LI were reminiscent of the old Leicester at the breakdown.
Which one? Last year or Johnno's time?
The few years of consistent dithering and gesticulating at the ruck before Borthwick, apart from a few promising occasions when Harrison got a run of games to get up to speed.

Good game.
I thought Gloucester were trying to spoil it until Potter weaved his magic.
Those donkeys went quiet when Genge scored. :smt005

Why?
First half LI were reminiscent of the old Leicester at the breakdown.
It's hard enough to generate time and space to attack anyway without wasting more by looking to the ref to ensure perfectly clean ball at every other breakdown.

Re: Tigers vs Exeter - Saturday 18th September 2021 - 1500

I enjoyed watching the match and the result. Leicester kept the intensity going longer than last season. It's a long season though. Some talk about the strength of the two teams affected by those absent but that is one reason why they have play offs, on another day it is someone else affected. Baxte...

Re: The start of the end?

Boxing and rugby are not really comparable. Pro boxers fight very few times per year. Rugby players play every week. Rugby has to eliminate subconcussive impacts where possible and already seems to be doing so with reduced contact training and being more strict on tackle height, but it also needs t...

Re: Lionesses ?

My point was not about skill levels it was that injections of large amounts of money into sport change things - and usually not for the better Is that not more about the attitudes of the people concerned? What makes you think the attitudes of those who are involved and will become involved upon the...

Re: Lionesses ?

Surely, BFG, your argument will become self-defeating? If the women's game becomes better financed, better publicised, has more prize money and sponsorship it will slide down the same slope as the men's game. Or a different slope. But it will be downhill whichever way Not quite. The top women alrea...

Re: Lionesses ?

It's due time women's rugby was given the proper platform. It is well promoted by some and gets next to nothing from others, it needs to be widespread. We can't know how popular or not it might be without providing an equal platform. Tennis is promoted and rewarded equally, both men and women fill t...

Re: Cockers on the move!!

I do think it took cockers leaving for us to really appreciate how important good forward play is. I think the supporters and the board took for granted how much coaching went into creating a forward pack like we had and it wasn't merely just players. He took a Leicester team to Bath and got pumped...

Re: Props who can scrummage both sides

We so rarely get props who can play on both sides now because you need natural talent to be able to do it and they select players into the system so young nowadays. They select size and coach it because that is what the youth and senior playing systems currently dictate. Youngsters are picked and th...

Re: Lions 2021

If I did not watch anymore rugby like played on this tour then I do not think I would miss it. Tired all round! Those concerned make this drab rugby out to be the difference between winning and losing at test match level but it runs much deeper for me and world rugby desperately need to take control...
