Re: Calvisano v Tigers - return fixture next week

From the 50 odd minutes I saw Harrison was poor, but in saying that he’s poor more often than people on here except . Did look like the backs were playing to a game plan though, no excuses but it can’t have helped losing Reid so early to be replaced by a player who can’t have trained much with the ...

So linking this post to the May may go debate.
Would KE being shipped out save the relevant funds.
For anyone who might be confused as to how an organisation might lose the ability to collectively get the best/most out of all of the individuals that make it up, look no further than the above!

Re: Trouble at mill - May to go?

Leicester have been one dimensional across all areas. The ability to change it up has been limited. If you look at a side like Saints then they are predictable as individuals but as a collective they can be unpredictable. By hook or by crook they find more mismatches. Leicester used to play with mor...

Re: This Weekend in Europe

Hogg carving up Sale, what a signing that was! Really good game this. We are, to say the least, in trouble vs Chiefs. Really, Sale by Diamonds own admission were poor, Yarde in particular was indirectly responsible for 2 of the tries and arguably all 3. That along with his dropping the ball over th...

Re: The Premiership is Boring, how to improve it

Front rows should be kept on their heels until after the engage and the engage should be close enough, would result in bringing the height up a bit and de-powering the engage. It's all about balance. Yellow cards all round for regular collapses before the ball is even in and anyone trying to cheat. ...

Re: The Premiership is Boring, how to improve it

Apart from the last point, I kind of agree with him. Maybe not quite as he's putting it but stuff does need to be done. One thing I hate at scrum time is how long some refs hold the front does before allowing them to bind. It should be a fluid motion 9f crouch, set, bind, push or whatever the ref c...

Re: The Premiership is Boring, how to improve it

Scrums used to be done and dusted within seconds, however it does pose dangers as this requires refs to be less picky. It is not automatically an advantage for fitter players to do it quicker and could be quite dangerous in some cases. Those such as Healey wouldn't quite understand. Procedures were ...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

Brits is/was a better player than Thacker in my view. I’m not comparing quality I’m comparing style. Neither of them is particularly orthodox in the way they play I've said it before but Leicester should go after Bristol's Will Capon. He is quick and talented but much more solid than Thacker in my ...

Anyone know the length of contract Thacker signed when he joined Bristol? I’d happily throw TPN and Youngs cap to bring him back!
He does well against teams a man down and with uncontested scrums.
Show pony!

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2

Makes me chuckle when folk compare BY England form to his Leicester form and always blame the clubs forwards. At international level most of BY ball is provided by players from one club, yes you know that one! Isn't that the point? Behind our forwards he doesn't flourish, behing theirs he does? I d...

And now they’re in negotiations to re-sign him, get rid of him now! The sooner, the better. Amazing how this style of post never actually manages to answer why he's part of the problem - or at least not address the counter argument that our playing style up front/potentially quality of players in t...

Re: Tigers v Calvisano

With respect to some previous posts, I'm finding it difficult to see the point in fielding a strong side at home to Calvisano. The various first team players have played in combination before in match situations. They are professional full-time rugby players, who train together daily. It cannot, or...
