Re: Paolo Odogwu

No one player is bigger than a club. No matter how good he is or potentially could be If his attitude isn’t right or he’s a bad influence etc he’s gone, simples! That is what I was referring....he may have the talent but if the attitude or commitment is not there then that is a valid reason to relea...

Re: Paolo Odogwu

Sometimes the pain of being rejected / released is character building and can spur players on to prove that they can improve and achieve a higher level. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but sitting in a comfort zone may not spur you on to get better. Paolo has done well to get to where he is now when...

Re: Paolo Odogwu

What's done is done, but perhaps our experience with Odogwu will mean that in future Tigers will be more patient/take a different approach to academy players. Or, perhaps he wouldn't have matured if Tigers had kept and indulged him? Maybe he'd still be turning up late to training etc and not reachi...

Re: A lesson from football?

Managers, players and fans moan now.
Managers, players and fans moaned before.
No doubt that technology has reduced errors.
Problems are differing interpretations of laws.

Re: Paolo Odogwu

Good luck to the lad, he's got skills. The suggestion that some youngsters might possess less than the desired attitude never fails to make me laugh. I've seen 14 year olds discarded for not fitting in. It's just an excuse to play politics in selection. They are young and still developing and are no...

Re: Gallagher Premiership Round 6

I've seen him do the same when defending pick and go on his own line. It seems to be generally accepted when done in that situation. As LittleBig says, the rules need to be changed so that it isn't almost impossible to avoid conceding a try without resorting to such "tackles". I've also seen him pe...

Re: Gallagher Premiership Round 6

I guess by that, that Sinckler has never done a similar tackle when defending a rolling maul inside his own 5 mtrs? :smt018 :smt017 I've seen him do the same when defending pick and go on his own line. Re: Gallagher Premiership Round 6

I think it's wrong to simply blame this on football antics creeping into rugger. Personally I recall hearing not so good language in both. I've watched quite a bit of sport during lockdown and football is currently being refereed much better than rugby in my opinion. For example in football a two fo...

Re: Gallagher Premiership Round 6

I thought that Sinckler had every right to be annoyed as that attempted tackle from LCD was the type of out of control dive into the knees that can potentially lead to ending a players career with a permanent limp. LCD dived in and missed the wrap. If you can't do it right at that speed then slow do...

Re: Gallagher Premiership Round 6

Interesting take. Not so sure myself. I think it was just one of those games. You're not sure though. Bath came back from the first lockdown looking physically superior, they're still having strong starts in matches but it's possible that they are starting to fade with fatigue and that is opening u...

Re: Gallagher Premiership Round 6

Expect the attacking success to continue, and more for the team's set up to be so. Less contact training due to the risks of Covid and concussion. It'll start to show up the average meat head and it is about time! Interesting take. Not so sure myself. I think it was just one of those games. You're ...

Re: Non playing staff interfering with play

Torpedoing the rucks wasn't well refereed either way in that game to be fair, Slater for Gloucester got away with a flying shoulder charge to the head of a Sale player earlier in the game. Ref had a shocker all evening. It would be great to hear that Danny Cipriani had decided to become a referee. ...
