If I had a £1 for every time ......
They could perhaps use this in those outdated contracts. :smt005

Re: England Training Squad announced

It's just trying players out in my opinion.
I'd find it a bit disappointing were Farrell at 12 but who else do you pick!
England need some sparks.
Reinach for example transformed Saints.

Re: Now playing at Mattioli Woods Welford Rd

You have to hand it to those at the club for saving this for a time like now. :smt038 I read some of the comments on faceplant, some of those people need to get out a bit more. I'd blame Covid and all this lockdown stuff but they were already that miserable. They need to get their priorities sorted,...

Re: European finals 2020

Cockers inherited a good (Very good) squad that he, as DoR, oversaw a gradual decline over many many years across forwards and backs. There may well be exacerbating reasons for some of the frankly odd recruitment under the latter years of his tenure (that summer we signed a load from Treviso spring...

Re: European finals 2020

Yawwwwwnnnnnn Thanks Scott - now provide the counterargument. :smt035 It was more about keep bringing Cockers up,it’s boring as hell! He did himself no favours, the insistence that we wouldn’t be in this mess if he was still here is complete rubbish. Imo of course Leicester have got worse since they...

Re: European finals 2020

The refereeing was poor with mixed messages to players all match but that penalty awarded against Racing on Exeter's line late on with the Exeter player clearly in at the side was a shocker in my opinion. Two questions. Was the ball over the line? And..... Is the offside line then gone.... It is wh...

Re: European finals 2020

I enjoyed the game and the way it ebbed and flowed. I have never been a fan of Nigel Owens but I didn't think he was too bad today. Rassing were very strong and their squad cost an awful lot of money. Considering where they have come from, it would be churlish in the extreme to rubbish Exeter's ach...

Re: Bye Bye Boris

Always sad when someone leaves but it's happening a lot everywhere.
The balance between set piece strength and mobility around the park hasn't been right compared to top sides at this level IMVHO.

Re: Coaching Staff vs International Players

To be honest, I thought we have more or less managed to ball-carry on the front foot in most of the games, even in games we have lost. The forwards being on the backfoot was only a relevant factor in the game vs Bristol, even against Wasps I thought we carried well it was just defence! I do agree a...

Re: Coaching Staff vs International Players

When you're struggling on the gain line for as long as Leicester have been and been under extra pressure from defenders regularly being allowed to push the offside by refs because you're being forced back so often then playing deeper and kicking the ball away becomes a habit. Leicester have got new ...

Re: Rugby And all sports’ fans matter!

I'm not sure it shows that the situation is precarious, it just shows that those clubs want to save some money. Not every business that uses the furlough scheme is on the brink of going under. Let's be honest, the only reason rugby might need external support is to pay inflated wages to many of the...

Re: Rugby And all sports’ fans matter!

OK you think working in an underfunded school with a whole year (9) and 11 teachers out, with support staff at risk as well is a joking matter? So underfunded we can't afford textbooks, decent computer and proper UPVC screening, let alone socially distance? Especially with some kids having parents ...

Re: The Rebuild

Can’t believe we are talking about missed tackles when talking about professional players, that’s really crazy to me! Most teams miss tackles it's just that some are better prepared to miss less and others are better prepared to scramble. You notice more when you lose. I haven't looked but I'd bet t...

Re: The Rebuild

Missed tackles have been an issue for quite a while, coming about initially from poor recruitment during Cockers tenure where Leicester were physically overrun which evolved into a lack of continuity and confidence. I expect SB knows what he is doing. Defence needs sorting out, individual tackling a...
