I’m playing in the Colts now, so I’m also hoping for more Friday/Sunday games.
I remember those days!
What positions do you play?

Re: Axial Loading

Is it because I used to be a prop that I don't understand the new rules, and is it something to do with age that I don't understand the jokes which I assume are something to do with Guns N Roses. I just think of it as pre-engagement shenanigans. If you picture the scrum set ups with front rows lean...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD Part 1

I don't entirely disagree with BFG. My previous comment was in response to MikeR regarding the scrumhalf position which I regard as one of strength. The Tiger's team did not play well last season, individuals all had their moments of good and bad but it was the team that failed. I suppose my commen...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD

Ben Youngs has made more than 230 appearances for Tiger, about 85 for England and a few for the Lions, not yet 30 he has been selected by many highly thought of coaches yet there are still people who have neither coached or played at the top level that think they know better than those that have. H...

Re: Transfers & Rumours Non-Tigers 2018-19

Basteraud to Munster,he's received a genuine offer apparently ..and apparently he's politely refused the offer. He's looking for a club until December when his contract with New York begins. Montpellier, Stade Français and Lyon are in the running to sign him, so whatever club he ends up at he'll ha...

Re: Maybe Genge starts the season with us? England RWC training squad

Not sure how relevant any scrum debate is these days anyway what with refs being under instruction to get the ball in play. All that is needed is enough to hold the push against the head, the ball is fed to the back row and it's play on. If Marler was some sort of super scrummager that wins matches ...

I thought Marler has played well in this year's Premiership.
At Welford Road he certainly didn't!

Re: Maybe Genge starts the season with us? England RWC training squad

I don't recall Marler doing anything in particular to earn an England recall. I watched Julian White for several years and think he was more mobile and that was in the distant past and playing from tight head. With less scrums and scrum feeding these days it is a backward step in my opinion and unle...

Re: Ringfencing finally here?

Do away with the PRC. Replace it with a competition where championship teams face premiership teams who are represented by under 23's. this would level the playing field as the championship teams would be able to have wiser older players. What are you thinking coming up with sensible ideas like thi...

Re: Elitism in Rugby

Of course Genge has the right to moan, for people in state schools post-16 there is always the Hartpury route or University, but for obvious reasons only a very few people will be able to go to Hartpury and not everyone is academically gifted enough to go to University, this is why the RFU and the ...

Re: Howard to mentor Murphy

Please explain why you think it is short sighted? The way I see it is that changing coach after coach over the past few years didn't particularly work very well, and contributed to last seasons relegation struggle, and so retaining some continuity and sticking with a coach already in place and now ...

The best kids tend to get offered scholarships and move to private schools. :smt017 not too big a mystery as to how that could skew the number a bit. Not aware of this happening with other big sports in the uk, excerpt potentially cricket.
You have clearly never seen Ehizode try to play rugby!
