Re: Matt Toomua
The only import I remember having an immediate run off the plane was Scotty Hamilton, instant hit with the supporters. Didn't Craig Newby also play straight away (and convert a try as well if my memory is correct?) Early days, I know - but am I alone in thinking JPP has been our top performer over ...

Re: Is it not obvious....
The amount of tries TTTE scores is down the the Exeter pack as a whole. We could put him in the Tigers team and he wouldn't score anywhere near as much even if the team was playing well. I seem to remember quite a lot of discussion in TTTE's last season with Tigers - along the lines of "he's n...

Re: Tigers v Bath
I'm sorry, but I think I must have eaten something dodgy last week and fallen into a coma. I obviously realise that we were hammered at WR by Bath, but I can't seem to find a match report online. Can someone forward me a link? It's clear from this forum that once again Cockers made a complete hash o...

Re: Is it not obvious....
A captain in the mould of Johnno must be identified and played in every game. That would certainly bring about an improvement....and we'd be even better if we identified and played in every game a 10 in the mould of Dan Carter, a 7 in the mould of Richie McCaw, an 8 in the mould of ZZ Brooke, and a...

Re: Prem odds
They say one in every seven people has a gambling addiction. My money’s on chris11. Nice one! In reality I wouldn't risk anything betting against Sarries this year. I'd be astonished if they don't top the table - and unless they have a serious off-day in the play-offs against a Wasps team who happe...

Re: Is it not obvious....
What annoys me about the centres currently is that we play makeshift centres instead of specialists. From what I am aware Roberts and Smith are both fit, yet we choose to play Betham and the 12 shirt which has changed every match. I think this illustrates that the answer to the question "Is it...

Re: Prem odds
Quins at 66/1 for instance. I wouldn't predict them as champions but in a system where top 4 make the play offs is it ridiculous to say they could...? I don't think so. There's some serious value in this market if anyone wanted to play it correctly. Not a gambler on sport (although I do bet on poli...

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think we also have the best away record in the Premiership (2 from 2)! Who needs Fortress WR?

Re: Should they be in trouble or not?
Let's hope referees keep the pressure up on this - sometimes these directives have an impact for the first few games and then seem to be forgotten. That's so cynical. Next, you'll be saying they've stopped pulling 9's up for 'not in straight'! :smt018 Ah - another bugbear that could be easily solve...

Re: Should they be in trouble or not?
Can anybody recall the last time they saw a referee advance a penalty by 10 metres for dissent (or any other kind of unsportsmanlike conduct)? It seems to be a rare event these days, and I for one would love to see it used more liberally. Tigers were marched back 10 metres against Glaws at Kingshol...

Fetishising the G-Force?
The article below posted on the BBC website (Scottish RU) presents a pretty damning picture of the way in which professional RU clubs prioritise short-term gain over long-term player welfare. I'd be interested in what others think about this. Does the article ring true, or is it an unfairly cynical ...

Re: Different Attitudes to Eye Gouging?
It's just a rarity in football I'm not sure they have developed an attitude or suitable punishment for it yet! It was a pretty bizarre incident and thankfully afaik there is no permanent damage (don't think he managed to make contact with the actual eye). I think you hit the nail, ourla - the relat...

Re: Mobile Crane on the move?
I agree with all the messages of goodwill to this fine servant of the club. As for the graceless few who seem to take pleasure in being dismissive about any player that doesn't meet their exacting standards....let a veil be discretely drawn. I look forward to seeing Jordan when he comes back with Br...
