Re: Gallagher Premiership Round 6
I was taught to aim at the hips, get your head on the right side and, if that didn't knock them over then slide down to the knees. Flying at the knees like that risks severe injuries to both players (having lost an ACL and had it reconstructed I would never wish that on anyone and, well, the game i...

Re: Is this season a Farce with the cancellations
Yes?
And, IMO, so was last season, given that clubs literally could not field their proper teams for each game for the 2nd half of it so it ended up an utter lottery - and that's not even getting to the players that ended up moving clubs part way through the season!

Re: Media Love In
So are you all saying that referees are biased towards Exeter? No, referees are maligned at the best of times but - as I don't have a tin foil hat - I am certainly not accusing them of bias... I think that nowadays the attacking team are given undue leniency due to directives given to the referees ...

Re: Media Love In
The Premiership and European champions setting the benchmark for others to follow? Well, obviously. The jealousy and sour grapes from some on here at any other team's success is truly hilarious :smt044 It's the fawning of the media that gets me! They never see the obvious blocking lines, flopping o...

Re: Premiership rejects BT TV offer
Not convinced about this. I don't see the leap from I like to watch rugby to I'm going to start buying stuff from Amazon. Everybody already knows about Amazon, it's unlikely that them screening rugby is suddenly going to bring in new shoppers. As someone who works closely with ecommerce you would b...

Re: Tigers v Chiefs
The whole Exeter team should be cited as they do it every week and must be coached to do it That was my earlier point about the AB and Leinster,it’s definitely coached. It would be difficult to reach any other conclusion, but unless there is any serious punishment Baxter will continue to coach his ...

Re: Will games get cancelled?
You've lost me Loretta. Regardless of how this season ends Sarries will be in the Championship ,why would that change? Or am I missing something? As I understand it, the mechanism for relegating Sarries was to inflict a huge points deduction, which was intended to ensure that they ended at the bott...

Re: Are we in the worst league?
I think the caterpillar is a frustrating sight for the fans. Especially when the players involved are often not even properly bound! For me it is frustrating when refs tell players to use it and then don't pernalise those who exceed the permitted 5 seconds. I would reduce 5 seconds to 3 and instruc...

Re: Tigers vs Bristol - 04th January 2020
You're spot on there, Bristol were allowed to run and outflank the Tigers defence all too often, making 20,30,40 yards or more all too easily. Sometimes this was after yet another poor pointless kick when Tigers were attacking, of which, again, there were too many. The result being that Tigers got ...

Re: Saracens Cap Investigation
The funny thing is in my opinion is they never even had to cheat. You take out some high earners say hypothetically Figallo, Skelton, L Williams and Taylor, they still would have won the league with the players they have. And of course this is why it is absolutely impossible to award the titles to ...

Re: ENG vs NZ - RWC Semi
Now I have a tension headache after that match. I am also conflicted about who I would prefer to see in the final. I am nervous about the threat posed by S Africa and it would make it doubly satisfying to beat Wales in the final. However, I'd also like to see Wales lose in the Semis. Ultimately I'd...

Re: cashless madness - or is it??
Very impressed that some posters have done so much research into the equipment and systems being used by the club and conducted an in depth cost analysis to determine they are using "cheapo kit". Or was the thought process a bit less logical and a bit more grumpy-old-man-rant? Well I can only speak...

Re: PRC Round 4 - Tigers vs Saints
Have never seen so many high tackles go unpunished- player welfare obviously not important :smt018 To be honest... I was more bothered that there were so many "punished" - but there was no escalation! There must have been at least 5 high tackle penalties! :smt012 (obviously not including those that...

Re: Severity of injuries and high tackles (official figures)
Are high tackles responsible for all concussion injuries? Low tackles (Chop tackles) where the knee impinges on the head are equally dangerous. Likewise head to hip. Likewise head to head in a friendly fire double tackle. I've always hated the "chop" tackle, I always wince when someone does one eit...
