Re: Our friend Pat Lam talks about the academy boundary system
It is frankly bonkers that a side should have any say in the future of a player once their contract ends. It would likely be illegal under the Bosman ruling so the clubs are probably sailing close to the wind by the arrangements that are in place. Under Bosman, when a player under a certain age lea...

Re: Our friend Pat Lam talks about the academy boundary system
Tigers runs its DPP program to capture players from Leicestershire, staffordshire, Nottingham Lincs and Derbyshire and East Anglia. So they will potentially capture all public and state schools in that region who can nominate plus all the clubs. When they exit the DPP and are retained by tigers they...

Leicester Tigers:
George Ford – £600,000
Ben Youngs – £350,000
Ellis Genge – £325,000
Gone are the days when the top paid player at the club was the tighthead, and the second top paid was the reserve tight head

Re: Challenge Cup Quarter final 2021 v Newcastle
Martin came through the academy etc as a lock and I think he will ultimately end up there. Crofty is a once in a generation talent. Athetically insane and could be single man lifted at the front of the lineout by a prop (Castro). He is probably in the top 3 lineout operators at the front of a lineou...

Re: Rebuilding England By The Pound
Back row of Underhill, Curry and Simmonds. Main thing, more power in the backs, Simmonds at 8, a proper 15 and let them play what's infront of them. We have some genuinely world class forwards in Itoje, Curry, Underhill and Simmonds, let's build around that. I have read a few articles about Sam Sim...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2020/21 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD EPISODE IV: A New Hope
Tight heads coming through include Osman Dimen and James Whitcombe, I'm hoping they will get some game time over the next 12 months or so. Whitcombe has settled on the loosehead. A very good talent there as well. Rowntree jnr is very much a tighthead now, if his scrummaging keeps progressing as wel...

Re: Manu Tuilagi
I have wondered if he will move house, rent somewhere or commute. It is a fair slog to Manchester, I live nearer to Sale than Tigers, and that journey in the winter will not be fun. If he commutes I will be interested to see if the gloss comes off the move and we see some dissatisfaction creep in.....

Re: Manu Tuilagi
Here's a snippet - Manu Tuilagi has a case against Leicester Tigers over wage dispute? I'm sure if IF this is something he is addressing, he will have lost all the good will of supporters and a club that has paid him to rehabilitate after surgeries just to get him fit for his England career. Likewi...

Re: House of Rugby - Burgess on the Fords
So in burgess words how did Mike Ford undermine England? Lets just say England had a dream when they convinced SB to come to Union a bit like England did when Jason Robinson came across and all other cross code players. The dream was Sam as 12 Sonny Bill style and Manu at 13. Bath bought along with...

Re: Players asked to take pay cuts!
Worthless prima donnas - they will still have an income, I know people with much lower salaries who now have nothing they have been sacked. I used to be proud of tigers -member, season ticket holder avid fan but now the only thing I feel is ashamed - poor performances, friction against management a...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2019/20 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACT THREAD PART 2
Imagine you’re an up and coming front row..... Dan Cole at the club, great track record. A certain farmer down the road for advice as well. The two international hookers with 120 caps between them. Graham Rowntree must be available for the occasional extra session as his lad is in the academy. Wig ...

Re: Peter Tom - retirement from Breedon
I don't want to burst the bubble of congratulations to Peter on his retirement from Breedon but the possibility of his spending more time at Tigers fills me full of dread. If you agree that the two most important people in a club are the owner/chairmand and DoR/Head coach, then he has been an absol...

Re: Why is he not part of our set up????
Maybe because; a) he didn't want to be b) his last job at Quins did not go well c) his specialisation is at the scrum and we already have one and we want a forwards coach that is more equipped to fix our lineout or generally add skills we don't have in the current setup Guessing he was never approa...

Re: New coaching structure?
Tigers dont use the DOR role we have a head of rugby operations.
Geordan is the Head Coach and according to SC will be next season. Ged Glynn was the head of rugby operations but has moved back to what he did best which is overseas scouting. He has been replaced by a bloke whose name escapes me.
