Re: Nottingham Rugby Club

If you promote clubs with lower interest, budget and attendance than Newcastle, how are they ever going to survive. The only chance a Championship club would have would be if they had someone bankrolling them to the tune of several million pounds every year just to start catching up with current cl...

Re: Harry Simmons

Healey was a quality player so let's not let his commentating affect how we remember that. To be honest his biggest issue was he was able to play in so many positions. Best position was scrum half but wanted to play in his weakest - fly half! Oh don’t get me wrong I was a huge Healey fan as a playe...

Re: Tigers v Exeter (A) - Premiership - Saturday 23rd December 2023 - KO 3-00pm

It's ironic that Wells was telling BBC Radio Leicester in the week how we like our locks traditional - none of this hybrid-six stuff - and then a few days later O.Chessum is selected in the back row! Very good point. That said - and I am not sure I can quantify it - of the three Chessum seems a mor...

Re: Zero Hours Contracts

We are going back to the days where people stand at the mill gates and the gaffer says "who will work all day for a pound" to the gathered peasants and a man says "I'll do it for 75 pence as I'm desperate. "Jobs yours" says the gaffer, "have you got any kids who will w...

Re: Wasps in the mire - now in administration

Perhaps Dayglo and Co were playing Wordle - they had the letters W, A and S but literally in the wrong place? They’ve already had at least five goes guessing the (ideal?!) location ie Hampstead, Sudbury, QPR, High Wycombe, Coventry so about to lose the game? :smt003 :smt003 I had no idea they start...

Re: Are Fans welcome at Tigers?

I tend to agree, but I don’t think it’s just such a recent thing. I agree it might well be something to do with the size of the crowd, making it more of a challenge but I do think premiership clubs like Tigers could boost their crowds by giving them a better experience. If I am honest I always feel ...

Re: PRTV - help!

I relented. I don’t get to Welford road very often, and given they seem to be having most of the tigers matches on, it works out to less than the price of the car park and a pint per match. I don’t have sky or bt tv so did a subscribe to discovery plus on my phone. the tnt connection worked ok , I d...

Re: PRTV - help!

One way is the Premiership rugby app. Along the bottom edge there is a PRTV tab. The links or recording appear under that. Today I have needed to log in, but previously not needed to for the highlights or full recordings. I am currently outside UK so it may be an IP address has been detected as out...

Re: Clubs in Financial woes...

Very sad day, for all the folks at Jersey reds, and for the other clubs that will be soon to follow. This is due to the RFU deciding to halve the Championship funding a couple of seasons ago. As I understand it, instead of about £500K each they now get £250K, plus whatever other funds they can get o...

Re: Tigers vs Ampthill (H) - Prem Rugby Cup - Sunday 24th September 2023 KO 3pm

I wonder if ex Tiger, ex Exeter and probably still with Ampthill (although he has not featured recently ) Tom Hardwick will appear at Sunday's match. Perhaps he will receive the accolade for leaving Tigers with a 3 line statement " no longer involved in the Club!" I think I read that both...

Re: Rugby World Cup warm up games

The irony for me being that Farrell is playing some of the best rugby of his career. Nonetheless it was another straight red offence and a six match ban could reasonably see him out of the World Cup squad. Henry Slade is the ideal fill-in.

Re: World Cup Squad Announcements

An interesting article regarding England's scrum half selection over the past 10+ years, with a quite extraordinary stat that JVP is the third most capped no. 9 in this time period. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union/2023/07/25/joe-simpson-caterpillar-rucks-game-law-makers-killing-rugby/ Don’t...

Re: TNT Sports

We've also just dumped BT sports, I had the app and was only paying £5 a month but they've pulled it from plusnet customers and wanted £20 odd per month or something to carry on. The wife deals with it and I'm sure she isn't telling me porkies.... I can assure you your wife is correct. Plusnet have...
