Re: World Cup Squad Announcements
An interesting article regarding England's scrum half selection over the past 10+ years, with a quite extraordinary stat that JVP is the third most capped no. 9 in this time period. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union/2023/07/25/joe-simpson-caterpillar-rucks-game-law-makers-killing-rugby/ Don’t...

Re: TNT Sports
We've also just dumped BT sports, I had the app and was only paying £5 a month but they've pulled it from plusnet customers and wanted £20 odd per month or something to carry on. The wife deals with it and I'm sure she isn't telling me porkies.... I can assure you your wife is correct. Plusnet have...

Re: Premiership restructuring draws closer
As I understand it, the administrators sold the Wasps name for next to nothing, so either the brand is worthless or they seem to have acted negligently in not realising it’s full value for the benefit of creditors. It’s actually sickening to think such a toxic brand could re-emerge before the debts ...

Are the semi’s final being broadcast anywhere? I think they are on canal sat in France which I don’t have but does anyone know of another legitimate source.

Re: Premiership final 2023
I'm not sure the swathes of empty seats seen on TV for the game at HQ was a good look, but thankfully I'm not in charge! It was so bad for this year it takes the urgency out of buying early bird tickets for next years final. Unless next years final has a better supported team in it, I could see a l...

Re: Wasps in the mire - now in administration
You’ve got to feel a little for the loyal fans who have followed them around the south of England and then up to the Midlands. Perhaps not so much for the slight hubris that existed at the club’s higher levels. Totally agree, our sympathies are with Wasps fans. I can’t imagine how we’d feel if it w...

Re: Things we could learn from French rugby?
Teds I agree with all you’ve put. Hopefully the proposed cup competition including both premiership and championship clubs will help Agreed, Rugbygramps I think it will help. However, we now have this years version of the championship cup semi-finals, Pirates against Jersey tonight, and Ealing v Do...

Re: Things we could learn from French rugby?
I do see another chicken and egg situation with the championship. TV companies cannot sell an event watched by a couple of hundred people at a local ground as the next must see contest but the clubs cannot get bigger crowds and justify bigger capacty grounds without it. What sums up the current pos...

Re: Jack Nowell to face disciplinary action for tweet criticising referee
He should have criticised the law(s) not the decision. Twitter just seems designed get people in trouble, best avoided. Remember, what goes on tour stays on social media. Nowell sensibly deleted his tweet but not before it was captured for posterity. We can all say stupid things, but we do need to ...

Re: Worcester’s woes
Meanwhile Wasps plan building a 24k capacity stadium "the wasps nest" Maybe they can sell bonds to raise the money for the build? https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/apr/13/wasps-plan-new-wasps-nest-stadium-and-return-to-premiership-by-2025-26 Interesting they have mentioned M40 corrid...

Re: Promotion from the Championship
:smt003 Not quite at the promotion end of the table, but an interesting fixture tonight between Hartpury and Ampthill. The Ampthill team includes former tigers in Hardwick and Worth. Alas game is not being streamed. You don’t have to stream games at Ampthill, you can just climb one of the trees bet...

Re: Promotion from the Championship
I don’t read the telegraph since it stopped being a newspaper, but there appears an article today about jersey being in a position to win the championship. Anyone know if they meet the criteria for promotion. https://twitter.com/telegraphrugby/status/1638882162177916930?s=61&t=BEp_zZM5wi5x62aIii...
