Re: Premier league final day.
The problem is always going to be that the TV and sponsorship money is never going to be enough to support a bottomless wage pit. The harsh reality is that rugby is not growing in levels of support below international level and there are not queues of companies linining up to buy the TV rights. To r...

Re: Premier league final day.
I think that it would lead to a downward spiral. Many teams can just about afford the current cap and even then most make a loss. From a Tigers points of view, with there being no sugar daddy bankrolling us, I can see us dropping to a regular mid table spot assuming wages stay as they are, and this ...

Re: Tigers v Leinster (H) - Saturday 07th May 2022 - 5-30pm KO
Watched highlights of the Leinster v Munster game over the weekend, there were hardly any, if any, of their European cup side playing I have always wondered how much the Pro 14 title actually means to those taking part. Clearly English clubs see a great deal of importance in winning the league but ...

Re: Formerly of this parish
I think we and a number of other sporting clubs have seen it before, there is nothing inherently wrong and sometimes a change is needed just to frehen up ideas and thinking as things get stale and players do not respond as well to hearing the same voice year after year. Not a criticism but maybe Bax...

Re: PRC Semi final vs London Irish (A) - 26th April 2022
Irish are still in europe too, and not out of top 4 race Then in the same position as us (OK not a strong but number of matches, demand on players etc). They chose to focus on this match, perhaps to the detriment of others. We chose to enter a weaker team, perhaps to the benefit of matches in other...

Re: PRC Semi final vs London Irish (A) - 26th April 2022
I think that we may be taking the moral high ground a bit too quickly here. If we were out of Europe and had nothing to play for in the league, I suspect that we too may have put a stronger team out and gone for the silverware. If we had already secured top 2 and a home playoff, I also suspect the t...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone
I would love to see Wales have to actually put some commitment when dangling the national team carrot. Lets say you sign a 2 year contract with the union and move to one of the regions. That should be backed with a contractual obligation to be given a decent run in the national team.

Re: Who should be kicking goals
Ford to me is the better kicker, just a bit rusty at the moment. Amazing the damage that an extended period sat on the England bench can do to your playing momentum. Hopefully he will hit pre England Hiatus form again soon.

Re: Quins v Leicester - 23rd April 2022 KO 15:00
The loss to Quins does have a small benefit in that it keeps things tight between second and third. With the importance of a home semi it means that Sarries and Quins would be hard pressed to be able to rest players much before the playoffs. With the teams down as low as ninth still in with a chance...

Re: Rugby Tonight
As we had a defence coach in place at the time and his departure had the potential to cause friction, I would suspect that SB but in the request for the person he wanted.

Has anyone looked at the LI squad for the weekend. Are they putting a full strength side out or holding players back to put out a stronger midweek team.

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone
If i was in charge, Vanes, L Chessum, Tom Mainz, Illione, Agbonbon, Sam Edwards and Joe Cuisick have all shown enough quality to go up from development to first team level. Certainly they're all worthy 4th choice players that will only continue to get better. They're all at the same age that Kelly,...

Re: Guy Porter red card
You would hope that the club are advised of the outcome before the reports are published. If not, it could cause a severe disadvantage with regards trainaing and selection

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2021/22 SQUAD/TRANSFERS/CONTRACTS: Aled Walters and the Philosopher's Stone
I am, in general, totally fine with SB approach. If you make an announcement, let's say Nemani has such and such an injury and is out for a month. That is one less tactical possibility that our next couple of opponents need to prepare for. By saying nothing, those teams need to prepare for him being...
