Re: Tigers v Saints (A) - Premiership - Saturday 20th April 2024 - KO: 15-05
Seeing pictures of Ben Youngs out on PR duty again today. Injured or third choice/waterboy again. Or often Thursday is rest day before Captains run on Friday Agreed but you would also not expect the weekend squad to be sent out on club PR duty on a rest day. That is normally a job reserved for inju...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
Find that very strange as Andrea stated that we would spend up to the cap. We must have knocked at least £1M off the wage bill with those departures and even if the 3 new signings + contract renewals amount to the same the cap has gone up by £1.5M so either Andea has mislead us or their are more si...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
Ealing might not put many bums on seats in their league but that also reflects that they are playing in the Championship. The Championship doesn't fill anyone with excitement and I suspect that if any Premiership sides dropped down their attendances would fall, especially after more than one season...

Re: LEICESTER TIGERS 2023/24 - KANGAROO MCKELLER: Do you come from a land down under? (Squad thread pt 2)
I think that, in my opinion, the issue is that we have an OK record compared to other teams but we have never really been convincing in our wins and a couple of our losses have been because we have not even turned up. Not looking to get rid of the coach or anything, it has been an unusual year with ...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
My advice to Ealing is:- go ahead and apply for planning permission, this wouldn't be at a massive cost and it would show the RFU they are serious. It may also attract extra fans knowing this and wishing to see Prem rugby. If the RFU stil lsay no, but the Planning Permission is granted, then the cl...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
If the criteria is budget, infrastructure, fan base rather than on the field performance than you are talking about US-style franchising which everyone seems to be against. I am not sure that I am against it when it comes to bringing teams in to the premiership. The teams have to be fit for purpose...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
They have tried the play off between bottom Premiership and top Championship before and it does not work. The Premiership team has players used to playing at a higher standard, and they have probably been coasting for a few matches knowing that the only important game is the play off match. The Cha...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
I guess this is my issue with Ealing at the moment. They are paying the players and getting in a team that is a fair heft above others in the league but, despite their statements, they are not doing anything to comply with current requirements and nor are their crowds, from my limited knowledge, any...

Re: Champions' Cup Quarter finals 2024
On the Lenny/Dan podcast Dan sad that if the quarter final had been Stormers v Tigers, Tigers would have to fly Dublin - Birmingham - Bordeaux - Doha -Cape Town. What a nightmare that would have been! This is where the tournament organisers need to be involved. If they want SA teams in the competit...

Re: Championship Clubs Promotion
Just had a thought one of the problems with promotion for Champinship Clubs is ground size, not supporter size. In the past Prem Clubs have ground shared with Football Clubs I.e. Sarries London Irish Wasps London Welsh. Why has no one thought about Championship Clubs Ground Sharing with Prem Clubs ...

Yeah I don't see him going there now. I wonder if they had a choice between Spink and Marchant and went with Spink. Marchant makes sense if we are losing Porter. If Porter is staying it becomes harder to justify signing him. Perese, Porter and Marchant would be incredible depth but overkill! Tbf wh...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm
Steward on the bench covers 20% of the positions. Not saying it’s ideal but if Feya Waboso can be on the bench so can Steward Depends what other cover you have on the bench and on the pitch. If Ford is starting, I suspect that Marcus Smith would be used as bench fullback cover and so no spot for St...

Re: Leinster mind games begin? - Champions Cup (A) - Saturday 06th April 2024 - KO:8:00pm
I don't want him at 12, I don't want him at any specific position I want the most impactful 15 on the field, his playmaking clearly needs work for a modern 15, tactical kicking, more than just the kick tennis version, probably needs work, we know he has a massive boot so maybe taking some longer di...
